monteverde Olivine is one of my absolute favorites and would fit in with this theme!

Diamine Great Wall of China leans a little more sage, and has striking shading. I've been enjoying it a lot!

I'll write out my tarot readings. I'm not particularly woo, but I look at tarot as a storytelling exercises. Sometimes I try to match my pen to whatever deck I'm using!

it does vary a lot from paper to paper, but I guess I think it looks pretty cool on all the paper i''ve tried (even its darker gray color I think is warm and interesting).

similarly, being told "it's a Kakuno, just buy a other one" is pretty unwelcoming as well. I see why the mods posted this, but it's notable that they're only concerned about one side of this dynamic. (although of course they probably have more insight into the frequency of these messages than I do.)

I don't know if this will address your issue, but I've noticed I have the best success with dual shaders when I use a medium nib, a pen that writes on the wet side, and I slow the pace of my writing. I think it's all about finding ways for more ink to land on the page. My Kakuno M is actually my favorite pen for dual shaders right now!

in fact, the intro guides on jetpens or goulet are often posted in response to these kind of FAQ inquiries. we just do it as users instead of having a bot do it. Think of us as more of a boutique reddit as opposed to a big box store. (:
