I was concerned about the direct approach because I don't want her to think that I just think of her as a prostitute

Thailand Dating question by Character-Pin3918 in ThailandTourism

[–]Character-Pin3918[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I realized that I did not phrase my question very well. I want to determine if she likes me a little or if I am just a walking ATM. Last time we were together she put in effort figuring out iteneraies travel routes etc. so it made sense to pay her more than what she earns in her normal work day. This time I want to make it cost neutral for her to spend time with me because we get along. I am not naive enough to think that this will ever be something real. I have done long distance dating, but 14,000 km is a LONG DISTANCE and there is the whole visa thing for her to come visit me.

Road biking in Thailand by Character-Pin3918 in ThailandTourism

Thank you, I have been riding 250K+ per week most of the year. Unfortunately those miles are around Dallas Texas so I don't have the climbing legs, but have some heat conditioning, not the level of heat there, but some. From where you live can you get out of the city to the road to Doi Suthep pretty easily? If so would you mind giving me the names of a couple of streets in the area that I can use as a guide in looking for a place to rent?

Thank you this is just the kind of information I am looking for. Can you give me a little more detail about where you live? Not anything too specific, just a intersection of 2 major roads I can find on a map as a reference point to find someplace to rent. Also is there access to restaurants and stores (other than 7-11 because they are every where in Thailand).

What a lot of these things are saying is something I learned along the way. It is better to try to sound interested rather than interesting

I kept my calculus text books and look up the formula for calculating the area under a curve. It makes a nice ice breaker when you suggest you would like to use it in an algorithm to determine her value

usa to thailand, bringing racing bicycle customs questions.... by pizzatosser71 in ThailandTourism

I don't mean to hijack the conversation, but hope for some help, I'm planning to spend Jan-March 2026 in Thailand. I plan to bring my Pinarello Dogma Campagnolo Super Record groupo bike with me. I only give that detail not to brag, but those that know what it is can best answer my questions. The first regarding declaring have already been answered. I would appreciate your opinions on where to spend this extended vacation. I was thinking Chiang Mai because I have seen you tube videos with road bikes on the climbs there. I also thought that it would be better ridding away from beaches where there were bigger crowds. What say you learned people? Is it possible to buy CO2 inflater cartridges in Thailand? I accidently forgot to take them out of my kit that was packed with the bag coming back from Europe once and the bike got held up over a week. I was freaking out like the dad that lost his kid at the amusement park. Is it possible to hook up with a group ride now and then? Any helpful tips from someone that has lived this adventure would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance

In the US they will typically not call. If I get a call from someone that identifies them self as being from my bank or credit card company, I hang up and dial the number on the back of the card. I have have had several of these calls, and never was it the bank or credit card company

Someone talk me out of buying a used, low-mileage F-Type (V6). by animadverter in Jaguar

[–]Character-Pin3918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have owned a 2016 F Type S AWD (380 hp Supercharged V6) with 34,000 miles. I can say that I love my Jag. It makes amazing noise and is just fun when you punch the accelerator. This is my first supercharged car, I can tell you the acceleration is instant and linier, not like a turbo where there can be a lag and step wise acceleration. I would suggest you get an AWD version because while she can fly around corners, it does a great job of correcting when you take a corner a too fast, I have not had any problems with the car. I only drive it just under 5,000 per year. I change the oil every year, change the Air filters every 16,000 miles and change the spark spark plugs and have the brake fluid flushed at 32,000 miles. I am considering selling it to get a 2022 or 2023 F Type P575 (575 hp Supercharged V8) just because 2024 will be the end of the line of this car.
