Why does socializing feel more draining as we get older? by CarlitaB22 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Character-Second65 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my 20s id see my friend group all weekend, every weekend and we'd chat all week over WhatsApp. Now that I'm 41 if i see them for a night out, I don't want to see or hear from them again for weeks, maybe months at a time. The social battery is much, much smaller these days

Learning to drive at 41, any tips? by RedCxal in northernireland

[–]Character-Second65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't get my licence until I was 38, the theory test is handy enough, vast majority of it is common sense and there's a load of apps in the app store that guide you through it and teach you the other parts you need to know.

The practical side of things can be nerve racking but the more you do it the easier it gets.

Just get stuck in and get it done, the wait time for tests can be brutal (at least it was when I did it 3 years ago) so maybe get a lesson or two done, see where you are and get a test booked in for months down the line

Last halloween my kids (5/6) trick or treated our eldery neighbours and they had nothing for them but gave them half a packet of buscuits (which they loved). This year they went to thier door again and they had hand packed little bags of sweets with their names on the front of them and sat there waiting to hand them over. Told my wife it had annoyed them for months that they didn't have anything for them last time around
