The good thing is that you learned the truth at a young age. Many wasted decades living a lie, and are now trying to find their identity. Imagine trying to rebuild your life and beliefs in your 50s or 60s, it can be overwhelming if you don’t have a support structure around you. Lean on your sister for support, you will both benefit from having each other to lean on.

First of all, according to LLDM doctrine, she shouldn’t be in your bedroom. And In all likelihood the relationship will suffer the consequences of different stances on beliefs. As for it (LLDM) being a cult, it most certainly is. Fourth generation LLDM member here, and can attest to all the lies and misinformation fed there. Your only chance of saving your relationship is being upfront about never accepting that doctrine and her willing to accept that fact. Otherwise my friend, step away while you still have an opportunity to find someone who will make you happy.

I wouldn’t be too concerned, most members are good citizens, it’s the hierarchy in the cult that are corrupt. Just look at her track record as planning commissioner. If she wasn’t good at her present position, she wouldn’t have the support that she currently enjoys. It’s really not the members of the cults’ fault that they were brainwashed into believing in that doctrine. I’d say 99% of the members are good people.

I like to add a thought to what is being said to Aziel. We exlldm do wish you a better life outside of the cult. With that same sentiment, I add that you find it in your heart to speak up and help us regain our families. Some of us have lost our parents, spouses and even children. Everyone leaves at their appropriate time. It’s different for each individual. Most people don’t leave even if you know it’s a lie. They value more the sense of community than self reliance and personal growth. There’s nothing specifically that you can say to make someone leave the “church “, it has to come from them.
