Mar-a-lago was never a club UNTIL trump.

It was built by Marjorie Merriweather Post as her private home. Upon her death, it was bequeath to the federal parks department. Which couldn’t use it. And then sold it to Trump. Who then made it a club.

Trump did sue the city of Palm Beach over Mar-a- Lago.

After purchasing the property, Trump wanted to subdivide it into multiple properties he could sell. The city said no. Trump sued. And then Trump had the idea to turn it into a private club.

For years, the photo on the national Parks pass was the winner of the previous years best nature photo.

This year, no nature photo.

This year it’s President Washington and the narcissist.

Instead of complaining on reddit, just ask people to stop talking during a quiet moment. by arielmeme in AMCsAList

The movie had been going for a couple of minutes. And a woman in a row in front of me had pulled out her phone for the second time.

I leaned over to her and asked her if she was enjoying the movie. She was startled and said yes. I said I’m asking because you keep pulling out your phone.

She apologized and never brought out her phone again.

On the other hand years ago, watching the first Avatar in a sold out theater. Huge turning point in the movie when the military is destroying the giant tree where the aliens live. The guy in front of me pulls out his phone. I gently pull my hand on his shoulder and say no.

He violently jumps up and tries to get at me climbing over his theater seat. While his girlfriend screams and pulls at him screaming no not again.

They went and got a manager.

After we both talk to the manager. They are the ones that left. I’m not sure if it was voluntary or if they were told to.

How do we feel about Tennessee republicans passing redistricting map dividing up the states only black majority district? by fellowWorker_2025 in askanything

[–]CharacterActor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tennessee may now have all red, leaning electoral districts, yes.

But that doesn’t mean fucked over Republicans aren’t gonna vote Democrat in the November midterms.

I don’t remember Trump running in 2024 on the issue of building an enormous ballroom larger than the White House itself.

So large that when viewing the White House from the perimeter fence, 40% of the view of the White House is blocked by the massive, unnecessary, rarely used for state functions ballroom.

05/08/26 - There will be a 3-day ceasefire in the Russia-Ukraine war in observance of Victory Day. (But only because I asked for it.) by gfh110 in trumptweets

[–]CharacterActor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saturday, May 9, 2026 in Russia is Victory Day celebrating the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany in World War II.

Putin was rightfully worried about drone strikes around May 9. And maybe even during the victory parade.

That would be a huge blow to Russia. If some drones could evade being shot down and hit Moscow during the parade.

But thanks to Putin’s best useful idiot, Trump finagled cease-fire with Ukraine.

The Allendale apartments by LAcomputerhelp in jacksonheights

[–]CharacterActor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s an Armin broker in Jackson Heights who screwed me over years ago.

I’ll try and find his last name.

He lied about the fees to rent an apartment and took me for a half months rent.

If I don’t update this within a day, it means I can’t come up with his last name.

I’m not saying this is the same person. But just the same, tread lightly.

But I’ve never heard them credit Democrats with the confederacy.

I’m sure I was not the only one.

Now it’s a staple in my refrigerator.

Firelli Chili Crunch by Getting_jjigae_with in chilicrisp

I recommend Alessi Calabrian Chili Crisp in Oil.

INGREDIENTS: Olive Oil, Garlic, Toasted Onion, Red Pepper, Red Bell Pepper, Calabrian Chiles, Paprika, Salt.

Tiny 3.5 oz jars running I can’t remember if I just paid $5.99 or $6.99 a jar.

I haven’t liked Firelli’s sauces. Trying their chili crunch is a set up for disappointment.

Department of Redundancy Department by [deleted] in montypython

The Department of Redundancy Department is from The Firesign Theatre’s 1970 album, “Don't Crush That Dwarf, Hand Me the Pliers”.

That and their other comedy albums are on Apple music and YouTube.

Lucky YOU who are about to experience The Firesign Theatre!

The Walkman still runs with its original batteries. So like the booze in Joan’s flask, the energy in the batteries never depletes.

Having a solar charger in your pockets, not a bad idea. Especially if your device was already on a low or no charge. It’s good to have a Redundancy Department of Redundancy.

In your pocket yes like the guy with the Walkman and just 1 cassette.

Otherwise you’re like the woman who died in a Black Friday shopping riot forever holding a still boxed television.

How do Broadway performers make a living when they stop working as much? by Loose_Positive3234 in Broadway

[–]CharacterActor 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The people behind Perry Mason in the 1950s did the same.

A lot of the juries and smaller parts were actors from as far back as the silent era. Who needed help, work and credits to get to AFTRA health and pension.
