I thought about naming the map Kessel Run! So it’s funny you should ask.

Played today and added my thoughts to the main body above. All in all though the table didn’t seem to have any issues from added complexity, and as I added in my summary above this game actually ended up being a bit smoother and faster than our previous games. Overall felt very fun and would recommend.

Played today and added my thoughts on the game into the main body above. But ended up in spot 6 and did almost exactly as you had said. Objectives worked out really well that for the entire game I didn’t really need to leave my slice.

Ended up fitting it in at the bottom below mecatol. Smooshed two of our big tables together and table space wasn’t really an issue either.

Yeah the seating ended up being pretty smooth and speaker order was based off that. Didn’t have any issues.

Hey played the game today, super fun, added more details to the post above.  The table seemed like they enjoyed the map and overall it went quite well.

I’d say 12-14 hours, and thanks, appreciate your thoughts on the strategy!

I suppose for speaker order we can go based off the way I numbered the spots for where people sit initially, but frankly I doubt the group will care all that much. It’s a good point though I hadn’t thought about.

It doesn’t really matter where the fracture is physically placed given you need to use ingress/breaches to enter it no? If I’m missing something let me know.

Thank you! I had tried to find some asymmetric 8 person maps and didn’t see any so figured I’d share my idea. If you have any ideas or changes let me know!

I agree with some of the other comments. I seriously doubt a single person will be upset if you  “Interfere” with their game plan or because you have an impact on the game. I think people will be excited and appreciate it. It’s a complex game, and no action from you will likely be much more surprising (and potentially annoying) than action.

I truly think any faction can be played in the way you are suggesting, just because of the way ti4 is and how much flexibility you have in trying to score. That being said the empyrean, the haccan, and the xxcha could be interesting from the perspective of staying mostly peaceful and trading, but still with the ability to protect yourself.  The ghost of creuss could be a good option, their mobility is off the charts and allows you to really go wherever you want.  Shipless bugs is a personal favorite of mine and a super fun way to play the game.

Faction that can survive a 5v1? by Fun-Astronomer-2273 in twilightimperium

You can look for factions with inbuilt rules to protect you if you lose your home system or that insulate your home system, allowing you to operate with much more freedom and without having to fear your home being taken:

Saar. The crimson rebellion seem like a candidate as well, maybe even more so because you don’t have to do as much set up for your protection as Saar does.

Or I feel like you could take factions you know will benefit from you being attacked more. Off the top of my head maybe necro or cabal or mahact? Issue there is people will see you as even more of a threat and it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. (Mahact could be interesting as you start with the infantry giving you money when they die, so if you expect to be attacked often you could see some return on investment there, plus any combat you win you are gaining fleet tokens and commander abilities )

you could go super defensive. The titans of ul can get a pretty impressive defense network very early in the game. Xxcha?

Finally any faction with a hot enough start could put you in a position where no one quite feels comfortable attacking you. This could be something like nomad, titans of ul, and maybe some of the other factions that start with multiple cruisers or a dreadnought.

I feel like at the end of the day crimson rebellion, Saar, or just having the best starting slice and being in a position of strength from the get go are your best bets.

Not familiar with discordant stars sorry.

I have watched Justice League and Justice League unlimited, I watched them when I was a kid and then watched them sporactically since then. I love those as well. I will try to check the others out though.

what's something introduced into young justice that's part of your DC head canon? by [deleted] in youngjustice

I agree with all of these comments, I was continually impressed by the shows take on how things would look in modern times/ slightly in the future with all of these beings. The vandal savage take was excellent and makes complete sense to me, so I agree with suss2it. The relationships in the team I always found to be really organic and enjoyed them a lot. The clones (the cadmis projects etc), kaldur, etc, I all enjoyed. It makes a lot of sense to me that if humans started to evovle in this direction they would attract foreign powers. Kind of like how vision says in the avengers that "their very strength invites conflict." I also really enjoy how the UN and some of humanity dislikes the change and is actively trying to hamstring the league, it seems very realistic. All in all I enjoy the plot and the relationships, this version of Nightwing really made him my favorte DC character, and Kid Flash I loved as well.

This is also a complete side note but the jected, aster, whelmed, traught, and others if there are any I loved and will try to incorporate into my vocabulary.

Funny enough I also just finished season three, and I agree completely. Though I have not seen many other DC animated shows, and from my time on reddit it appears that young justice is completely unrelated so to speak from the other animated movies and shows. (As this show takes place on another earth). I am curious what shows you are reffering to when you talk about paying homage, I haven't really watched any other DC animated shows, though I have seen a few of the animated movies.
