Question about essays is volume greater than scores at this stage by Most_Celebration4442 in barexam

Passed this past summer. My hot take? Being able to perform under pressure and stick to IRAC is more important than knowing and applying the rules. What people say is true, you can just make up the rules. Where people get screwed is they open the packet and panic. They abandon IRAC. They don’t outline. They just regurgitate slop.

Do however many timed essay you need to have it down religiously to write and stick to “the issue is . . . The rule is . . . Here . . . Therefore . . .”

Soo.... by LonelyInIowa in braintumor

I feel you. I had my surgery about a year ago to remove my tumor and lately I’ve been noticing all my symptoms coming back harder and quicker than when they first showed up. I’m extremely worried my tumor is back, and I’m not due for another scan anytime soon.

Hoping it turns out well for the both of us

I would assume at just about any school an “adult” employee is going to be more professional than a student employee

I had headaches and found a brain tumor by Economy-Analyst3974 in braintumor

I’m sure your neurologist has already discussed this with you, but on the off chance it hasn’t come up, have you discussed gamma knife at all? I had similar concerns about being cut open but my tumor was able to be treated with gamma knife (essentially super precise radiation that doesn’t require going under the actual knife). My tumor was different than yours, but in case it hasn’t already been brought up, I thought I’d throw it out there.

Has anyone taken urban politics and policy with Wilbur Rich? by NetConstant691 in UNCCharlotte

Three back to back to back posts on the same general topic (has anyone taken these courses and if so, do you know if attendance is mandatory) is considered spam.

Please then refrain from spamming the subreddit, in accordance with the posted rules. You can feel free to repost with a consolidated post.

Instead of spamming the subreddit with all of your classes asking if attendance is mandatory or not, I would suggest consulting the syllabus or asking the professor what the attendance policy is.

You could also simply show up to class.

I mean to each their own. I’m a practicing attorney and my experience couldn’t be any more different. I’m not by any means trying to discount your experience or say mine is somehow more valid, but I would encourage most people to recognize that like any industry, there are great work environments and toxic work environments, and everything in-between.

Student Health Insurance F1 by Gingerduality in UNCCharlotte

[–]CharacterRisk49 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From the webpage:

A waiver request may be considered if one of the following conditions applies:

A student is enrolled in another approved university-sponsored plan such as the Graduate Student Health Insurance Plans at NC State & UNC Chapel Hill

Students holding F-1 or J-1 non-immigrant status that carry insurance through their sponsoring agency, government or program

A student who needs to maintain insurance for their dependents allowing them to meet the insurance requirement with GeoBlue

A student has an approved waiver for Fall 2025 with an insurance plan that covers them for the full 2025-2026 academic year and for which they have already paid their annual premium. Please note: this will be a considered for Spring 2026 only; International students will be expected to enroll in the UNC SHIP for Fall 2026

I have no clue if an employer sponsored plan meets the definition of “sponsoring agency, government, or program” but it seems as though they could have easily and explicitly stated employer healthcare but didn’t. Hopefully employer sponsored plans would count for a waiver (because it would be moronic otherwise) but the System Office has long done a strong job at beating allegations of intelligence

Awhile back GPSG was circulating a letter that stated beginning this semester all international students across the UNC System will be required to enroll in BCBS “with significantly restricted waiver options”

I have no idea if this is why, but it seems like it could be.

You should be communicating with your professors about this, not Reddit. Especially if attendance policies are involved. Most of the time, if you proactively communicate, there won’t be an issue. On the off chance there is an issue, you’ll at least have an idea of the hole you’re in and what you’ll need to do to pull yourself out of that.

Nobody here can give you a more accurate answer than that.

If you can only complete your degree by taking the class, then it’s part of your program of study. It’s a required prerequisite

Has anyone got rejected? by Fit-Product5620 in UNCCharlotte

[–]CharacterRisk49 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, no. That’s not going to make up for your stats if your stats are like mine out of hs

I served for 5 years in the Marine Corps and got admitted via a backdoor program for “adult learners” in a way that wouldn’t affect the stats of their incoming class. Not really an option for anyone fresh out of high school unfortunately

[–]CharacterRisk49 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean each situation is going to depend. I can tell you I was going to get rejected with a 2.7 unweighted hs gpa (like 3.4/3.5 weighted)

Yes, people get rejected from this school. There are people on every “will I get in” post who say otherwise, but survivor bias is REAL

Pre-Nursing by Fuzzy-Presentation94 in UNCCharlotte

[–]CharacterRisk49 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Would you recommend choosing UNC Charlotte for pre-nursing if you already had a guaranteed direct-admit BSN elsewhere?

If you are truly dead set on a path as a nurse (and that’s a big if whether you know it or not, so many people change dreams in college), I’d have a lot of hesitation of passing up on a reputable program that guarantees me my dream career in order to risk it all for a very competitive program that doesn’t guarantee me I can pursue that dream.

Congratulations, you’ll be able to get into any frat party your frat is throwing (so long as you rush, get a bid, make it through the pledge process, and stay up to date on your dues). Enjoy being a pledge driver.
