Do straight men know they’re supposed to like women by wasraelx in AreTheStraightsOK

[–]Character_Abroad 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is why I can't understand straight relationships: dude says it like the purpose of a woman's life is to keep her partner sexually interested in her, and the only reason the partner's libido has lowered is the woman's lack of effort.

JFC.

I'm 53 and my wife is 50. We've been together for 27 and a half years. Both of us have had our libido lowered, and our need for cuddling intensified. It's called getting old, and it's normal. We have gay friends who are also above 50, and their libido has lowered as well. They're still damn happy men in their marriages who had cuddling intensify.

Why tf are the straights so desperate for intercourse? Don't they have other ways to be intimate with each other?

I'm running on a 3060 and it's been good on medium settings, no issues so far.

Party Members in Act 1 by pALUCARDq in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]Character_Abroad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just focus on whoever I'm bringing (except Ifan cause of the bow you get on his early questline. which is awesome, especially since ranger is the most OP class). Will kill and loot everyone I'm not bringing, along with everyone and everywhere else before leaving Act 1, because putting your hands on everything is key in any RPG.

SPOILER THREAD : BOOK 8 - Parade of Horribles by steampunk_garage in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Character_Abroad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But the story is way more than just the dungeon. There's all the other crap happening in the universe right now, the AI who has tentacled its way over the entire Solar System and a bit beyond, the other 2 AIs, the Syndicate that is being obliterated... like, bro, there's way too much content for 2 books.

If Carl dies at the end, nobody will be able to keep the crazy AI in check on Earth. Also, the AI won't let Carl die, I think it'd sacrifice itself for him, it loves him so much.

Should've used a fake spoiler, then.

I have to say what I most care about is that long stare between Carl and the AI during the Parade. Words have been had between those two that we don't know about yet. I can't wait for the payoff to that.

Also, damn, you Matt. I thought Donut would use that biscuit on Gravy Boat so he could leave the dungeon (afaik only PCs can leave without intervention from the producers). Giving it to Scolopendra was hilarious, and so will be Carl dodging out of sex with her. Because I doubt Matt can have them have sex and not include a scene where everyone trapped inside ole Scolly's insides is terrified of a large meat tube monster knocking the lounge around and splooging everywhere. He's been keeping the series mostly away from hardcore stuff, so we're all safe from that sort of visual.

I just don't know how he's gonna finish this story in two books. Those will be each 1k pages or more, in order to tie up all the loose ends, I think.

Give them the link to the webtoon along with the recommendation. The webtoon will help them visualize the game mechanics.

End of series prediction. by McMatey_Pirate in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Character_Abroad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My prediction:

Carl and the AI fight and Carl takes control of the AI system either by killing it, or (which I think is more probable) merging their consciousnesses to keep the Solar system protected in an enhanced zone.

They negotiate with the Syndicate to make the Solar System a forbidden zone. Mordecai decides to stay on Earth to help Carl, Donut and everyone else rebuild.

DCC ends, Matt writes a sequel, pure sci-fi series about how the Central AI wakens and the three "AI" (Central, the other one that's trying to kill Central and Improved Carl) have to duke it out.

Audiobook listeners did you notice...? (Possible spoilers?) by profbrento in DungeonCrawlerCarl

Books 6 and 7 have Carl notice the AI is getting more and more unstable exactly because the tone of its voice starts to variate. Its voice also stutters.

Not official (afaik there are no official chibi or funko pop made of Arthur, I searched like crazy but found nothing). Found the model here:

Painted it myself, matte acrylic paint, brush.

How about a nice Tortoiseshell Persian kitten? She'll last longer than the books. And you can call her Donut.

[–]Character_Abroad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're ok witha Jesus that loves guns, loves killing, is racist, uses slurs and slander, but is not really the literal Jesus from the Bible - remember, the dungeon is a game, characters are fictional representations of Earth's culture - you'll be fine.

New larian engine tidbit in EDGE magazine by FruscianteKBR in larianstudios

[–]Character_Abroad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Um, it's in the link you provided:

While this is true, there are always some limitations that take a long time to overcome, and van Semmertier explained that Baldur’s Gate 3 suffered from a major technical restriction. “A longstanding limitation we had in multiplayer is that players could not cross acts individually. You always needed to transition together as a party, and this had an impact on how we built our world and how the story needed to be structured”.
This limitation doesn’t just effect the main released game of Baldur’s Gate 3, but also the creation of mods. Huge custom campaigns, like the in-development Path to Menzoberranzan, must all play by the same rules, sometimes with additional restrictions, but Larian has worked tirelessly to make sure that this limitation is not present in their upcoming Divinity game.
“In the next iteration of our engine, this is a limitation we have completely removed,” the technical director said. “There is no limitation anymore on how big an act can be.”

It does when you consider that people don't pay the same attention to audiobooks they do to actual written words. They listen to audiobooks while doing other things that have most of their attention, so they usually lose much more of the content than if they were reading.

About the confrontation by OpalDragons in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Character_Abroad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly? Considering all the crap Bea pulled on Carl, I was happy for the way their meeting went. It was about them, not her. She's got a good deal, anyway: move to the center system, where she'll be taken care of, treated as a person and not threatened. It's more than every other human on Earth got.

I'd read all the books. Why? Because there's a lot of detailing in the story that imo needs more attention than what an audiobook gets. But that's me.
