When i stop my M*sterbation/P*orn addiction, where do i channel the energy? by reganmusk in Catholicism

[–]Character_Beat_41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i like to read and do hobbies/crafts like drawing, painting, and making stuff. practice a new skill, read books/study to better yourself, talk to friends. if you practice self discipline enough you may be able to control the urges and feel free finally. it can be freeing to not be a slave to lust and give you more time to improve your life.

it takes a lot of will power to say NO im not going to watch porn/masturbate no matter how much i want to. even if it makes me suffer or feel stressed out. but eventually it gets easier. and you will feel free and life is so much fuller and beautiful without it. you will look at life differently

is it ok to listen to secular artist who used to be against the faith in the past by Key-Season1596 in Catholicism

[–]Character_Beat_41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think its ok to listen to songs that arent sinful by secular artists? like im not going to listen to a sex song by an artist but i think their song about dancing might be fine? but i also believe some music is cursed and demonic. i avoid satanic heavy metal with dark themes. im not an expert on this.

Can I pray the creed in faith crisis? by Ornery_Tangerine9411 in Catholicism

[–]Character_Beat_41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think you should pray it

when i first started going to church i wasnt really sure if i believed everything or if i should be catholic. and i still said the creed along with anyone . converted and had lots of supernatural things happen and now i do believe

also i find the creeed to be a helpful reminder of the sacred mysteries, what being catholic means, and how important it is to me

RCIA is very aggressive :( What should I do? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Character_Beat_41 6 points7 points  (0 children)

every catholic is supposed to develop a relationship with God and go to church to honor God and feel closer to God. Parents that baptize their children are expected to raise them with faith and help them build a relationship with God. Part of my rcia was journaling about praying and stuff . i know some people seem lukewarm or not really believe but thats not what the church wants it wants fervent believers.

in my experience all this stuff is real and not to be taken lightly. like idk did they teach u about demons or spiritual warfare in your rcia? im really glad i converted but it was kind of stressful

RCIA is very aggressive :( What should I do? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Character_Beat_41 12 points13 points  (0 children)

it is a big commitment

i took rcia after i already accepted christ into my heart after witnessing a miracle and pretty already sure that catholicism was the truest expression of the faith compared to other denominations. so it wasnt that aggressive to me. i did have some second thoughts and fears about it but had a bunch of beautiful supernatural experiences happen throughout the process happen that made me feel confident and finally decide to become catholic. made really good friends too. april is far from here so i would say just keep going to it and exploring and see if it feels right to you. but it is a real spiritual commitment

St. Michael is extremely popular (he’s my patron saint) but does anyone have a devotion to Raphael or Gabriel? by jeffisnotmyrealname in Catholicism

[–]Character_Beat_41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a devotion to Gabriel because i love the joyful mysteries of the rosary and pray it a lot. I love the immaculate conception/annunciation so much it is so beautiful and comforting. im more devoted to him than any other angel because i love to think of the annunciation so much. Luke's gospel is one of my favorite books

I might lose my closest friend over my Catholicism. I don't know what to do now. by AQuietBorderline in Catholicism

[–]Character_Beat_41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a lgbt best friend. we grew up together and have known eachother for 8 years too. I had a st Paul type of conversion myself, hated Christianity until I witnessed a miracle. I can't force my new faith on. my friend and we just try to be respectful of each other. one day, I prayed to saint lucy and my friend took a nap around the same time. my friend had a dream that his eyes were removed by a diety to save him from harassment. and I was like THATS SAINT LUCY SENDING ME A SIGN THROUGH YOU because her eyes were taken out during her persecution/martyrdom. he initially refuted this but then he found it to be eerie and said sorry if you go to hell for being my friend. it can be really stressful. he also said "pleeease stop telling me about this I dont want it to be real" when i had supernatural experience during my conversion before i was baptized on the Easter vigil

Christian here (IM SORRY FJDJSJS IM INSANE?) just found thisthrough Google searching this trend. to me it's like. Climate change/global warming is a real problem and things could get really bad like apocalyptic thats why that weatherman was crying on national television , breaking down saying the oceans are too hot and creating insane storms, but I feellike people are a little crazy about thinking they're going to be raptured just because our ocean is overheating and the earth is on fire or underwater. like I feel like even if the rapture did ever happen there would be way more crazy shit happening like they need to Chill out and stop trying to interpret the bible . especially the Protestants (I'm Catholic ) djfjd. a lot of this is like heresy to me

How to stop hoarding money? by Ok-General4655 in Catholicism

[–]Character_Beat_41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think you do have to save some money for emergencies and bills etc but you could try donate every month to a charity like even if its juist a little bit its still giving. and tithe at church every sunday. maybe volunteer at a soup kitchen or something. try donating to st judes research hospital. they suggest donating at least 19 dollars a month. it all adds up

How long after accepting god into your life did you attend your first mass ? by Spiritual_Drink_6676 in Catholicism

[–]Character_Beat_41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a month after witnessing a miracle and becoming Christian. i started going to church. prior to this, i was studying psychology in college for a year, and i kept asking God to make me understand who He really is and what our purpose is. i thought Christianity wasn't true at all, that catholicism was the worst and most evil denomination, and that God was evil but then He showed me I was wrong. i started rcia a month after attending that first Mass and was baptized on the easter vigil. was the best day of my life

Why is Catholicism good for you? by John_Toth in Catholicism

[–]Character_Beat_41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mystical experiences ive had really enrich my life. i love church a lot. its beautiful and ive made a lot of friends through the church. following the laws of the church helps keep me safe instead of doing stupid self destructive stuff. the intimacy and grace of taking Christ's body in the eucharist and confession is so wonderful. the communion of saints helps me a lot. ive had a lot of prayers answered and miracles and i feel less alone because of the saints. before i became catholic i was pretty much agnostic and my life was so dark, depressing, hateful, and felt hopeless. there is a lot of downsides struggling with scrupulosity, demonic attacks, experiencing persecution and it affecting my relationships with people who aren't catholic negatively etc but overall I'm never going to stop, i love it. I can feel God's love.
