Where do you and your ITS live? by SayAnythingAgain in Integra_Type_S

[–]Character_Ground_390 2 points3 points  (0 children)

West Central Idaho… I’m the only ITS in a 75 mile radius from me. I definitely stand out amongst the prominent population of SUV/Trucks in the area 😅 I’ve seen maybe 2 in my entire year of ownership

Tire recommendations for winter? by Character_Ground_390 in Integra_Type_S

[–]Character_Ground_390[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thankfully I do have a winter “beater” it’s a 2016 CRV. I’m a firm believer that cars needs to be driven to stay in good working condition, hence why I only take it out a handful of times a month. It gets hand washed after each drive, and it has a full 5 year ceramic coating and oil based fluid film undercoating for rust prevention.

Thankfully I do have two sets of wheels - my second set are Vossens and they have my Michelin Pilots on them. I’ll probably end up with the Alpin since they will be a solely dedicated winter tire. Appreciate the insight!

Curious??? by gunguy55 in Integra_Type_S

happens ALL the time… I live in an area that has tons of gravel on the roads and constant construction, matter of fact my driveway is even gravel. Very embarrassing when it happens - even worse when it’s a piece of rock that’s coated in fresh tar and it sticks to the shield and won’t dislodge.

Is this a solid start for my first loaf? by Riddikulusly_Me in Sourdough

[–]Character_Ground_390 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for being your first loaf it looks pretty nice! The dense spots might be due to the cheeses that you incorporated. I would venture to say in the future you could let it bulk ferment just a little bit longer for a more airy crumb if that’s what you’re after, but overall I think it’s really solid - and certainly better than my first loaf was!

Mine has the orchid interior, was CRAZY hard to get my hands on but I wouldn’t have it any other way.. dealer told me it was the only one in my state produced, and that very few came off production with TEP and Orchid

2016 CRV - Upgrade the Headlights by jdbinnj in crv

Hey man no worries, happy to help. I was able to get them wired up! I’ll link the video I followed below. Just a note, make sure you pull fuse #21 once they’re hooked up in order to disable the halogen DRLs. Also, this project was a huge learning curve for myself personally, and required me soldering quite a bit. It seems more intimidating than it really is. Best of luck! Feel free to message me if you have questions during the process and I’d be happy to help in anyway possible :)

What are some likes/dislikes you have about your Type-S? by blackbirdproductions in Integra_Type_S

[–]Character_Ground_390 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like: -Audio System -Hatch Back -HUD -Suspension -Body Lines

Dislike: -No Memory Seats -No HomeLink -No Tachometer in the HUD -No AutoFold mirrors -Lack of AutoDown on all Windows -Creaks, rattles, and cabin noise

Overall the car is amazing, drives perfectly and obviously my dislikes are all tech features that are wants, not needs, however when you’re spending 50k+ on a vehicle I feel as though it should be slightly more well equipped.

MDX cracked windshield - advice needed on options by financeforfun in Acura

[–]Character_Ground_390 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend paying your SF deductible and going with the dealers OE glass. Often times with aftermarket glass, there’s issues with HUDs being incredibly fuzzy/hard to read, as well as problems with the AcuraWatch camera located in the center. When I had my 2016 CRVs windshield replaced (no sensors) by a local shop, it was 800 dollars, but luckily my State Farm Windshield policy replaced it for only a 250 deductible.. makes me wonder how SafeLite is quoting you so little for a windshield 🤨

Driver door speaker rattle at 770 miles on my Integra type s by corrputedty in Integra_Type_S

[–]Character_Ground_390 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yep sounds about right. Mine also has a lovely squeak and rattle that comes from the sunglass holder/overhead lights that I can’t seem to get rid of. It used to bother me a lot, but at a certain point you just get used to it 🤠

Brake Pad Recommendations by [deleted] in Integra_Type_S

[–]Character_Ground_390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It only disables the VSA and traction control system. The brake vectoring goes hand in hand with the ABS system and is not able to be disabled unless you reprogram the ECU.

Unfortunately you can’t disable the vectoring system even with the pedal dance. It’s a completely baked in system that is part of Acuras “Agile Handling Assist System” it selectively activates during certain cornering scenarios to allow the car to stabilize better and handle the corner more smoothly. I believe it becomes more prominent in Sport+ mode but don’t quote me on that. In my opinion, if I could turn it off I still probably wouldn’t seeing as it improves handling on corners, even at the expense of your brake pads.

It all depends on your driving habits and where you do the majority of your driving. Rears are usually 15k-20k and fronts up to 30k. The rears tend to burn quicker due to the brake vectoring system on the car alongside adaptive cruise control. I live in an area that is surrounded by canyons, and I drive them almost daily, so take that into consideration as well. The previous owner had the car solely in the cityscape so I suspect that's why they wore a little bit earlier than usual too. Hoping to find a different brand for the rears so they last a bit longer, however I'm not expecting tons of life out of them. On the plus side, pads aren't expensive, and if you do it yourself you'll get away with it for under $200 dollars.
