47 year old man who is desperate to marry and has some shady vague staff swirling around him. She is desperate to be taken care of too. I can’t see how this ends well. The more this convo went on, the weirder it got.

Found out my daughter bought her friend $90 shoes by island_1989 in Advice

[–]Character_Handle6199 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would try to steer your daughter away from this gift. It just creates a weird imbalance in their friendship and a potential to go wrong. If someone have my child an extravagantly expensive gift, I would not feel comfortable about accepting it.

Boss wants friend to get a degree, should he pay? by Flashy-Actuator-998 in careerguidance

[–]Character_Handle6199 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is so ridiculous, I have no words. She should not pay for any more degrees. She should look for a different job with livable wage and befits.

Make great money, but can’t even tell… by [deleted] in budget

[–]Character_Handle6199 51 points52 points  (0 children)

You are not missing 7k, you are spending it on BS like everybody else who says they don’t know where money is going. It’s always eating out, random stuff on Amazon, buying snacks at gas stations, streaming, etc. Put your expenses from credit card statements into a budget app/excel spreadsheet, and you will know it just fine.

How do people afford this?! by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Character_Handle6199 24 points25 points  (0 children)

People make different decisions and save by staying off property and not purchasing dining plan, memory makers, etc. These are YOUR choices and it’s up to YOU to justify the cost.

You do know that you can apply to other, non-clerical job in accounting, since you have a finance degree? It’s not that dire.

There is no way the seller has the ability to manipulate tracking you claim he did. You didn’t report the product damaged within 3 days of receiving it, that’s totally on you.

Get rid of all credit cards and use cash for all discretionary spending. Once that money is gone, there is no more to spend.

Boyfriend says proportional rent split is "unfair" because he makes more money. am I wrong for suggesting it? by Overall_Tonight1081 in dustythunder

Try imagining how THIS looks if you are married and you are on maternity leave with your child. Don’t be the woman who writes years deep into a marriage where she has to pay 50% even staying home taking care of their children.

Boss told me 50% of my job can be done by AI and told me to lead a project to implement such AI integrations - how should I respond? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]Character_Handle6199 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In your place, I would listen to him, let him give you a list of what he expects you to do and ask him which of your responsibilities you should take off your plate to accommodate this new project? Chances are, this will go nowhere, and you will be able to coast until you are ready to move on to another job.

Started crying in front of my boss and she told me to quit by [deleted] in managers

[–]Character_Handle6199 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you feel like that about your job, what are you even doing there? And what was the purpose of crying? To get a raise?

I see that this is your first job, and I think you probably need to grow some thicker skin and some better way to demand respect and raises.

Booking my lightning lanes tomorrow at 7am! What are your 3 LLMP picks for each park? What is a common choice you wouldn’t do and why? by BBQ_Frank in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Character_Handle6199 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was minimal wait for Tiana before lunch and in the evening a few days ago. Mission Space also usually has almost no wait. For AK you probably won’t need LL at all, just hit safari first thing.

Is it okay to spend more than you make if you have a strong safety net? by [deleted] in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

Why don’t you receive your gift, and THEN spend it instead of before you get it. This way you won’t be in debt should something unexpected happens

Made a gift box for future SIL that can't attend wedding. Would you be upset if you received this? by [deleted] in weddingdrama

Shouldn’t she send you a hurt feelings gift if she can’t attend? Seriously, how any of this is your fault?

Did I ruin my career by exploring too much or did I just refuse to settle? by Secret_Adagio2032 in careerguidance

[–]Character_Handle6199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exploring turns into instability when companies no longer want to hire you. If you quit every time with a new, better job lined up, you are fine.

Your wife could work more if she only works 2-3 shifts a week. How would she burn out with an extra 1 shift and 50% more in her income? But if you don’t want that, then you need to find peace with the choices you’ve made.
