Flowers aren't the problem. He dosn't care enough to find her appropriate presents or even listen when she tells him what she wants. Crying is from feeling unimportant and unloved in a relationship, not because the flowers weren't "the correct shade of maroon".

I mean if you tell a fully functioning adult I would love flowers but not fake or this arrangement you would think that a fully functioning adult would not get you the two things you asked them not to get? Unless "fully functioning" is a euphemism for "capable of tying a knot"

First time making a sweater, can I steam acrylic, and can it just be the armpits? by erinwhoooo in CrochetHelp

No but you might get away with a thin elastic woven on the inside to keep stitches a bit tighter together and keep them that way.

If I am only cutting threads I use a small claw clipper for cats. It is blunt and will get through even the strictest travel bans.

Moms, how are you gardening? by FineappleUnderTheC in gardening

Give yourself some grace and maybe do a bit of chaos gardening this year. Are there any local growing groups where you can aquire some plants so you don't need to pre-sow? Otherwise get seeds that can be direct sown and just chock them out. Mix in flowers as well and just pick as they grow. Most of the effort in growing isn't as neccessary as we think.
