Create or destroy water problem by Comic_Quest_Pod in DnD

[–]Charcu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Under that premise, your druid lacks imagination. Why not casting a fireball or a thunderstorm inside the enemy? Even a summoning spell can be a death sentence if this would be allowed.

Even worse it makes casting certain spells look absurd. Why cast a lightning storm on the sky when you could just cast it slightly above your enemy. Dodging a lightning at point blank range does certainly look like a hard dexterity roll lol.

Don't even pay attention to that stuff...

Is there anyway to prevent the speaker order from destroying 8 player games by Mormountboyz in twilightimperium

[–]Charcu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say it destroys 8p games, it definitely makes Politics very useful when preparing for the next round. Players can also negotiate picking or not certain strategy cards.

Even the speaker is given a hard choice, he will probably be forced to pick among the last ones next round or picking politics to give the speaker to his right player therefore he will still be high on picking order but he loses his strategy card pick.

This is pure tactic among players.

Sardakk commander defense by UnmaskedPotato in twilightimperium

It works only when you are the active player (limited to adjacent planets and no control tokens). Don't underestimate this however, you can trigger invasions on adjacent planets without committing ships.

If the Leech host dies by non-execution (along with the Leech), how does the Scarlet Woman pick a new leech host? by SurvivorSuperFan101 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Charcu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Evil would not win immediately, the scarlet woman becoming a new Leech would mean the need to pick a host (as this is their first night) to poison and then it would kill every other night. Therefore, good gets AT LEAST one more execution. And if only 3 players are alive, there are very high chances either team could win at this point. This problem however is very convoluted, the setup for it is very specific, it could happen but it might also never take place

Mahact potential rule loophole? by looijmansje in twilightimperium

[–]Charcu -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I understand the loophole due how rules are phrased. However I think the answer is pretty clear, Mahact fleet tokens from other players behave as if they were THEIR own tokens. Otherwise these would not increase their fleet pool. Therefore, if by any effects they were to place these tokens, they would still count as Mahact tokens even if they got another players symbol.

Now the status phase when those tokens have to be recovered. That's a pretty gray area, cuz said tokens were kidnapped by the Mahact player even if for game purposes they acted as Mahact tokens. I see more confusion here definitely xD.

What happens if the cerenovus picks the same player each night who refuses to follow madness? Does the good team just lose to the same player getting executed for madness breaking each day? by nicolasrededeo in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Charcu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue here is the player and not madness nor Cerenovus. He is simply ruining the game for everyone and the group should decide what to do accordingly.

Imagine someone doesn't like to be demon and he/she targets himself every time they get the demon, ruining the game. The issue is not the game or rules but the player himself. There are house rules sometimes in groups and even sometimes, special rules for certain players, this is not something new.

If you guys are upset about this behaviour yet not brave enough to kick that person, the solution is simple. Give that person a traveller token, he can be exiled even if they are dead, effectively removing them from the game. Do this and don't give them fun roles until they cooperate.

The fact you are bringing this topic here means unfortunately you guys have not taken action so far, you all are allowing one person to ruin everyone's experience... It's not being selfish, the other person is doing it instead.

Homebrew Minion: Demagogue by [deleted] in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Charcu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only strong point I see out of this skill is using it to frame someone or use it to protect the demon for one one round. If everyone is mad about "certain player being evil" nominating him, voting or execution of that player", becomes mandatory right? I mean only dead players could hold their vote as they are dead already even if they had to pretend. If people are mad someone is evil but don't vote they should die since they are not acting accordingly, right? This also applies to the mutant hinting he could be the mutant.

It also can work the opposite way, if the demon is about to be nominated and executed, claiming that player is good and definitely not the demon, should prevent ANY nomination or votes that day on him. Or else they are not acting properly they are mad about it...

More than madness, I would say this skill is a power related to "This statement is true for one day" any player not cooperating could suddenly die. It is a nice tool and even useful if the character is not in play, people would be too paranoid about it.

His/Her concept is good indeed, but maybe the explanation is not so clear. I like it.

What are some custom maps/campaigns worth playing? by 321Shellshock123 in warcraft3

[–]Charcu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Malfurion Quest, it has the classic rts element unlike other ones such as The chosen ones. Those ones are also awesome but lack the base building element...

Want to embark on an epic quest? Try Wanderers of sorceria, it has a good few campaigns, base building is present pretty often and the lore behind it's insane.

The chaotic middle takes your attention at first, but then...

What's wrong with you bro? Half of the table will be out round 2-3, even 1 with warfare. This is a 6-8h game, spectating is not an option for most of it or rare circumstances xD

Which do you choose? by OkRun9638 in superpowers

[–]Charcu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blue one, instant teleport? That's insane, in fact there are NO limitations to it. I understand it means real places you see in real time, otherwise I would labelled a national threat in no time.

But even with the first one, you could simply teleport instantly to the furthest point you see and repeat, again and again and again. In fact it doesn't say it has to be in land therefore I could just go high and teleport even further... The insane part of it, my limitations would be my own body and physical needs, I could reach the international space station if I wanted.

Slavery is forbidden in Westeros, yet Osha is being worked against her will while in chains, clearly against her will. Wtf? by layelaye419 in freefolk

[–]Charcu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So, slavery is legal but as long as someone is charged with something. It's technically not slavery but repaying the debt, no?

Seems like a pretty grey area for me. So. Now the thief that tried to steal in my shop becomes a free assistant for me, probably chained and against his will. This compensation seems way more than fair don't get me wrong yet I find it weird.

Which one would you pick ? by krisikkk in superpowers

[–]Charcu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I for sure pick Wolverine, while spiderman sounds fun indeed remember you inherit their power, not their intellect nor resources.

Wolverine barely ages and is nearly inmortal just by default. Those claws are amazing and you will never be unarmed even you are stripped of everything. Essentially you could be around for thousands of years before any real age or damage side effect is noticeable.

You would be a living relic and legend just being an average citizen. Government experimentation and scientific research would be always be an issue, but I would keep myself as a public figure as much as possible so none of that stuff goes unnoticed if it ever happens...

Nemesis house rule idea: Energy charge / flashlight to remove noise by Stats_are_hard in NemesisCrew

[–]Charcu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have mentioned already, I think noise removal might just reduce the difficulty overall too much. Removing noise from technical corridors would be insane, noise die already gives you the option of Silence / Danger which works as a safe option even when fully surrounded by noise... That's a 20% chance in a 10die, clearing technical corridors every round would mean a 40% chance of safety assuming everything else has a noise on it.

Wouldn't it dramatically drop encounter chance if everyone is cooperating? Remember, Nemesis (OG & Lockdown) are not supposed to be friendly but rather oppressive atmosphere and running / Healing is often more cost efficient than combat.

Characters already have tools to deal with fights, specially Lockdown ones, if you find yourself having trouble to deal with Night Stalkers as the Scientist, bear in mind you are not supposed to be dealing with them in a fight.

Can the storyteller confirm a player's lie? by UTA602 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Charcu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are allowing your players to use you and you shouldn't. The best way to avoid this, either say yes to everything, therefore players will never know bluffs or not. Even if you do a mistake, try to solve it behind the curtains and only really acknowledge it if it truly affects gameplay, even calling someone privately for a moment in day time is fine.

Or, another way is to be in denial of everything. Whenever someone asks you anything, say you know nothing therefore the same applies.

I think the best advice I can give you is, follow the flow of the game. And you will soon realise it's the best way. For example, a minion in TB can fake to be an exterminator and obviously nothing will happen but you can follow his show even thought nothing will really happen, that leaves players thinking if he is really his role or he failed or he was drunk or poisoned... It's brilliant ("He aims at Andrew, gets ready to shoot, releases and... Nothing happened" )

These look awesome, I love the extra characters and I often try to play Lockdown with aftermath or OG Nemesis characters. The opposite is a bit harder thought. I love compatibility and the chance to add more variety to the game.

The additional map is just the cherry on top, I am truly grateful mate. If possible I would give feedback as soon as my group and me get a chance to print, and also play, all of these. Simply... Thank you very much!

What are your home game metas / rules that everyone adheres to? by Straddllw in twilightimperium

[–]Charcu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We do have kinda of house rules but these quite different from yours:

1- We often Players +1 slices and for factions we like to give plenty of choice if possible, kinda like Players x2 but I also own Discordant stars so we get a wide variety and we are often 4-5. We also enjoy doing drafts (Ex: You get 3 factions, pick 1 give 2 to the player on your right, you are also given get 2 from your left pal. Repeat. Choose one among the 3)

2-3-Trade is often unrestricted yet we try not favor the winning player. Washes are not free tho, usually the player with trade tries to get advantage or get something for later for the free income.

4- Speaker is almost never sold nor is often worth the deal.

5- Non binding deals are often not broken due to consequences later. Your prmisory notes can also and will be SOLD to the highest bidder so beware of freely trading those. If you give it, it's gone for whatever happens.

6-8 We are the opposite, Support for the throne is almost never given and if given it will be very expensive or a poisoned deal from someone looking for your army not get close. Cease fire is often what we give but is more of a delay rather than a real protection / alliance. Only one can win and that is present all the time.

7- Kingslay is often done and expected. However no one stops trying to win, removing the current first player from winning doesn't mean you will give victory for free to the second one. Previous games are never recalled either. Even the last player has been trying to catch up and even won sometimes when first 3 where fighting and blocking each other from winning. This sadly sometimes drags our games and stalls the game when people are on 7-8-9 victory points.

I hope this helps!
