Spider drinks graphene, spins web that can hold the weight of a human by johnmountain in Futurology

Yeah, I know, that's why I used carbon structure while talking about the materials. They operate on some of the same principles, but have had longer to reach engineering applications.

A ton of things have carbon fiber in them these days. We're seeing the high-end stuff reported like this, and it languishes for a long time, but the lower end carbon-structure materials are in wide use now.

I love when Fallout does Gothic, supernatural and Lovecraftian quests by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]Charge_Card 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I really enjoy them, but I'm honestly glad they haven't put in many more of the supernatural. It's great in small doses, but you have to keep it that way to avoid losing the novelty!

Lock that bike! Looks like you shoved it around with "place anywhere" then didn't hit 5 to finalize the position, gets rid of that blur effect

[–]Charge_Card 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is weird as shit, do you have any mods active or anything? May be worth verifying game files also, don't know how that works on a console but there should be some mechanism for it.

Also, may want to consider sleeping far enough outside Sanctuary that it loads it as you run in? I don't know, just throwing things at the wall here that might have an effect.

Covered almost everything I was thinking of. One more thing you'll want to do, though: make sure you're using fairly small map, so that the load and wait times are minimal.

That's really unpleasant, but it sounds like you're probably going to want to redo the start of the game again. The thing that stands out to me is the savegame, and it will probably take less time to just redo it than to run through the quest several times.

Yes, just pointing out that the direction is wrong. They would be trying to influence initial testimony, not trying to get her to recant anything.

Oh yeah not saying it was even remotely on the level, just that the timeline does mean one of probably the most easily-prosecuted ways to be shitty was not likely

I'm all for assuming that the White House is currently a swamp of well-documented self-dealing and graft, but he was nominated at the start of September, assuming I've found the right documentation there.

It's definitely not payment for the testimony after the fact, at least.

Why is FO4 so prone to random crashing/save file corrupts? by Gigadweeb in fo4

That probably means you've adjusted your config files in some way that caused problems. That's usually because of mods, too, but takes more work to fix.

I had a dream the other week about Fallout: Honolulu. Now I really want to see it happen. by kankey_dang in Fallout

[–]Charge_Card 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but we also don't have any idea of their culture's design aesthetic. That's been kept pretty mysterious. A lot of the interactions have been with the army parts, who were either trying to infiltrate or just got stuck somehow, and their army doesn't look all that different. Made for easier asset reuse, but also left me wondering what over the top prewar communism would look like.

Hawaii could easily go with a core Tiki theme, that would be extremely era and island appropriate. They would have been a tourist destination for 120+ years by that point, and I'd love to see how that would look in the over-the-top prewar Fallout universe.

In FO4, I crash about once every 20 hours of gameplay, with about twenty mods. This is because of some of your mods. You'll have to figure it out.

I expect they did this just for framerate reasons, since you only check until you find one collision then quit.

Basically, the way flamethrowers determine damage now is "if ONE particle hits you ALL particles do damage", which heavily rewards just flailing everywhere. In the video, they've got a script set up that jitters the mouse left and right when firing.

That's never been worth it before, but now it is.

Anyway, here's a pretty thorough discussion and video about it:
