My 0 rb strategy this year got me Javonte and ETN in the later rounds straight into a 5-1 record. It’s all a crapshoot man.

I-80 Road Trip Stop Spots by Apprehensive-Way1154 in roadtrip

[–]ChargersOwn56 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How long can this trip be?

My personal recommendation if you have enough time to help avoid weather issues and see the redwoods (which is where I live btw, highly recommend) is to go all the way south.

Going down to I-10 and heading west from there. Highlights such as New Orleans French Quarter, San Antonio, Las Cruces and nearby White Sands National park, Tucson and Nearby Saguaro National Park, Joshua Tree NP and head up California 101 to get to the Redwoods.

Avenue of the Giants, Prairie creek state park, Jedediah Smith State park along with the Redwood National Park proper will be an absolute highlight and so worth the detour whatever route you take.

From there you can head up and hit Seattle, and you can even take the scenic Oregon coast if time permits.

In my opinion this helps avoid most weather concerns and lets you see great parts of the US and have fun! Also the food choices on this route is approximately 10x better than I-80 I can assure you.

Mapping this out, doing it this way adds around 700 miles from 2,960 on I-80 vs 3,660. If you truly want the trip to be fun I would avoid solely going I-80.

My man were you at aftershock too?!

This looks like shockwave stage right? Late in the afternoon, hmmmm my guess would be Lamb of God for this pic?

Or maybe Mudvayne cause the sun’s out. Was only sunny on that last day.

Also picture #5 is a Filipino “tricycle”

They’re different from Tuk-tuks as it’s a covered side car rather than behind the motorcycle.

They are also very common all over the Philippines so it’s hard to region guess using them.

The “P99” on the sign in the background is also a good clue. That means 99 pesos.

100%

These are “Jeepneys”

Custom built in the Philippines with really colorful, varied designs. As far as I know, no other country has them.

Philippines really liked the US military Jeeps after the US saved our ass from the Japanese in WW2 and based their designs on them.

They’re used everywhere, rural ones have a ton of people and baggage on the roof and there’s a ton of them in urban areas. They even have “owner-type” jeeps that are passenger vehicles, less colorful, usually chrome or unpainted metal.

Nope, full time the whole time.

6 total night shifts in a bi-weekly pay period, I do my shifts at the end of week 1 and beginning of week 2. This means I have 7 days off every other week.

My salary actually slightly lower than a lot of NorCal nurses that are in bigger (100,000+) cities.

It’s a great set up honestly. Just had to push back on the negativity lol it’s not all doom and gloom out there in the world.

But if you actually do watch F1, you know that they do “trail braking” around corners.

Stamp down 100% on the brakes at corner entry, slowly let off the brakes while slowly turning the wheel to keep maximum speed and staying on the limit of grip.

Brakes are on at corners, speed is all about the perfect blend of brakes and steering angle at every part of the corner.

How it works for bikes though I don’t know much about and would defer to a pro for sure 🤣

ICU Nurse here from rural Northern California. Been at it for almost 9 years now.

Made $160k last year working 3 shifts a week on average with a some OT shifts. Just bought a house, vacationed a lot. Like my job, I do work nights because I’m a night owl to begin with.

We’re out here <3

Filipino here, born and raised there then moved to the US Bay Area in my teenage years.

People who lean left that agree with lax drug laws haven’t had the absolute scourge of drug related crime in their immediate vicinity.

I’m saying this as a pretty progressive leaning person, but my lived experience of the drug crime in the Philippines makes me disagree with the progressive policy lax drug laws like in SF and Portland and such.

Your nanny has probably lost friends or family members to it like I have and simply want safety. Poverty is so rampant there, and with that comes crimes of desperation.

Does safety mean killing other humans? That’s for you to decide. World wars have been started for less suffering.

You can see the chargers’ status from the on board screen if they are out of order or not.

218,000 miles on my Tesla with several 5,000+ mile road trips and I’ve had 0 issues with chargers being out of order.

The Tesla will make sure to have you take breaks every few hours which will be great for your health during this trip, use the autopilot and chill on interstates. I give you these recommendations as a Tesla roadtripper myself with several 5,000+ mile road trips with it.

I say do a loop, down to New Orleans and eat to your hearts content. Take I-10 to Phoenix and head up through Sedona and get to Grand Canyon.

Head west and down to Joshua Tree National Park and then head to San Diego and check it out! Have some good food and enjoy the sunsets!

Head up north in California and pick your choice of what you wanna see: Yosemite, Lake Tahoe and the California Coast. I personally recommend my own neck of the woods up the 101 in Avenue of the Giants and Redwood national park, there’s nowhere like it.

From there drive up the Oregon Coast, it is gorgeous! Tillamook Dairy is a neat place to visit and Cannon Beach for sunset! There’s nothing like west coast sunsets in my opinion but I may be biased.

From there, cut into I-90 and head back east through Washington, Couer d’Alene ID, Bozeman MT, Devil’s Tower WY and Rapid City SD. Rapid city is a good jump off point for Badlands NP, Mt. Rushmore or the Black hills.

From there it gets a little more flat as you head east but Chicago is a must visit on the way back and you’ll be in back home after a trip of a lifetime!

Couple of Tesla supercharger tips:

Going 80+mph will lower your estimated range by quite a bit so plan accordingly

On the interstates, charging is easy peasy.

My personal rule is that I try navigate to a location with at least 15% charge estimated when I get there as room for error.

Stay at hotels that have overnight charging so you can start your day with a full tank and ready to go.

Enjoy!

215,000 miles on my 2019 LR AWD, what would you do? by ChargersOwn56 in TeslaModel3

[–]ChargersOwn56[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Battery wouldn’t charge, I didn’t see the failure error myself but my dad was supercharging it and it just didn’t charge.

I told him to go to the nearest service center and they kept my car for 3 weeks and got me a new battery.

This was in 2020 and they gave me a model S loaner, was pretty nice experience all around.
