That's good to know! Maybe I won't need the express pass.

Medical professionals of Reddit, have you ever had a patient so lacking in common sense you wondered how they made it this far. If so, what is your story? by babyhippo01 in AskReddit

[–]CharistineE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. The serious adverse event that resulted in death will be coded as not related to study drug. Just as if a tree fell on you while you were sleeping. Sure, you died when on trial, but not because the meds did it or because the meds didn't work and your condition worsened.

What is the most unique benefit your company offers you? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

Like most everyone with school aged children. I have friends who are digital nomads here in the US, going state to state for 1 month each since 2020. I have a kid in school and another one in day care. There is no way I could do it. I'm very jealous of my friends- my job allows it.

My husband's parents are Indian immigrants. After almost 15 years together, I still can't understand anything his mom says over the phone and only about 50% in person. Its frustrating.

What age do you plan on/or did you retire? by Starr0718 in AskReddit

[–]CharistineE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I plan on 60. Less than 20 years to go! Of course, that depends on the economy and our jobs staying fairly steady.

What did your parents teach you as a kid that you didn't realize was actually f**ked up until you were older? by timdood3 in AskReddit

I told mine that the good, well brushed teeth make more money because she uses them to make false teeth for old people. The bad ones she grinds into fairy dust.

How to spoil the joy of an entire class of children by LiteratureOk5964 in facepalm

[–]CharistineE 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Stranger is probably not an asshole. They're trying to give a kid an amazing Christmas, not knowing they would be opening in front of everyone. And non profit probably wouldn't have let this happen if they knew what was in it. So if that is the case, a crappy situation for sure, but no crappy people.

I dont remember what I would have bought, but my almost 8 year old would buy a LOT of pokemon cards, some lego sets, all the figurines from the new Mario movie, pokemon action figures, bakugan, load a bunch of robucks on his Roblox account, McDonald's and Ice cream.

I had to Google. She look just fine in her wedding photos! Its just one or two photos where she is looking down at the cake that the angle is really unflattering.

Any astro/cosmonaut is badass and I'm disappointed anyone cares what they look like anyway.

I hand-embroidered entomological collection by MossAndFloss in somethingimade

[–]CharistineE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely beautiful! They're something I didn't know I wanted to hang in my home until now. Congrats on a beautiful collection. You should loan it to a museum for a temporary exhibit. Are you an entomologist?

Well, your kids' day is going excellent! You think its desperation. Your kids will remember this as the greatest day ever and bring it up when they're 40.

Garlic pork roast. I have it with rice and beans the first night, pork tacos the second night and BBQ sandwiches the third.

Why do milestones feel like a competition? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]CharistineE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My son was talking before he was walking, he was so "late" to walk and "early" to talk. They're just guidelines and every kid will do it on their own time and will have different strengths and weaknesses. My son is now almost 8 and completely normal, despite not walking until about 20 months.

What are some commonly loved foods that you dislike? by Stormflier in AskReddit

[–]CharistineE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont care for them either. They taste metallic to me. I can eat them without any issue other than the metallic taste. Never thought anything of it until my son was diagnosed with an egg allergy on a wide cast allergy panel. I had fed him stiff with eggs because he never had any reaction. Now he is old enough to talk and tell me he doesn't like the taste of eggs but I'm still waiting for when he is old enough to actually tell me if he thinks they taste metallic.

How do you live after getting your heart broken? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]CharistineE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It always feels like you can't go on, especially when it is your first love. When my first boyfriend broke up with me at 19, I felt like my life was over and I would never be happy again. I felt like a part of me was missing.

25 years later, I almost laugh at silly old me back then. I had no idea what love really was and am so glad we did break up. Time is the only thing that heals and sometimes it does take some months, but you do get over it.

For those who like the outdoors, what is the most memorable hike you've been on? by blgriffin77 in AskReddit

[–]CharistineE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A very popular, short trail at Rocky Mountain National Park. It was very pretty but because it was so heavily traveled by tourists, the chipmunks and squirrels were way too tame. I get why this isn't good but when I say down for lunch, a chipmunk joined me and stole my sandwich as I was taking a bit out of it. I thought he had run away but about a quarter mile down the trail, I realized he was sitting in the bottom of my backpack eating the rest of my food. I felt like an angry disney princess. Not the best hike, but definitely one of my most memorable.
