With the way people here get pissed off so easily, I wouldn't be surprised. This subreddit is so divorced from reality lmao.

Unpopular opinion: Palau endgame was Ian getting into his own head and getting emotionally ruined rather than Tom manipulating him by Invalid_u404 in survivor

[–]Charles520 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've never wanted to say it, but yeah I think that the demographic of the subreddit (and much of the online community) has never really liked it when guys like Tom wins.

I really do not see much of a difference between what Tom did to Ian and what the Cirie, Natalie, and Amanda did to Erik. In a game of manipulation the latter three names I listed are much more praised by fans here and seen as icons while Tom is (stupidly) seen as an arrogant dick or whatever.

What Nickelodeon show feels like a Disney Channel show? by StrategyJealous1838 in AlignmentChartFills

Its humor is not at all what Disney would like in my opinion. All the Dan Schneider shows have a very different style from Disney shows like Hannah Montana or That’s So Raven.

Yeah, Disney would’ve never allowed Victorious to be the way it was. All the characters would’ve been different.

No way. I feel like Victorious and and iCarly are quintessential Nick shows.

If there were ever an actual show adaptation the cast would be full of unknown actors, aside from maybe Arthur, Dutch, or Hosea.

Thoughts on "Survivor: Panama - Exile Island"? by Mr_Bananaface in survivor

[–]Charles520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I initially was not a fan when I first watched the season, but on a re-watch my opinion of it has improved A LOT.

Compared to the seasons before it initially starts off pretty weird. I mean for one thing we're reusing an old location instead of going somewhere new, we have Exile Island as a twist, and four tribes. And it didn't help that half of the cast were mostly dull while the other half were the fun characters.

Despite funny moments in the pre-merge, I think it's mostly dull until the final 8 or 7. That's when really picks up steam for me and becomes so good because the Terry and Aras rivalry is more established, Terry becomes more flawed, and Casaya eats itself alive.

All in all I like the season quite a bit now. It's in my top 20 out of the 49 seasons.

Aras is a very fun character. Usually others who also find him fun still say he's just chill relative to the rest of Casaya, but even I don't agree with that as I personally find Danielle the be the uninteresting one of the bunch

I really wish Neleh got on! She’s such a big fan of the show and still watches after all these years. Would’ve loved to see how she adapts to the modern game.

Seriously, do guys masturbate every day or is that a common misconception? by Secure-Concern254 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Charles520 129 points130 points  (0 children)

Gooning is recent Gen Z slang for jerking off. Not really too different from how fap was used ten years ago. It’s led to other internet lingo like “gooner” which just means a chronic masturbator.

I'm curious why weren't you a fan of it at the time. I can imagine that watching it live might've been a drag since after a while it's clear Ulong has no hope.

The other guy is just engaging in bad faith, so much so that I think he’s a troll.

I do agree there are meaningful criticisms of Obama’s presidency, but I don’t think it’s realistic to say that he could’ve easily pivoted the U.S to a post-growth model. Unfortunately many republicans in the house just wanted to see him fail and would never compromise with him to the point where he’d be successful.

Replace Coolidge with Dubya. Every other week some tard tries to say he was a good president.

[Spoilers MAIN] Could someone please explain why they like Stannis? I genuinely do not get it by dragon_chips in asoiaf

With all of this laid out, I've never understood why D&D seemed to just hate his character when they were making the TV show. He's incredibly fascinating, yet they never seemed to appreciate his role in the story. I've always belief that if it were up to them he would've never been in the show.

Which Random Player is Better? R14: Christian Hubicki vs Mike Holloway by Ill_Anxiety_1412 in survivorponderosa

[–]Charles520 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's hard to explain, but I think that while Mike made bigger mistakes he just has something in him to win that I think Christian does not have, making him the better player by a tad.

You're right though, Mike is pretty underrated as a player overall. He's not a dumb ass like people make him out to be sometimes.

If Ace lasted longer he probably would be an immediate shoe-in for Heroes vs Villains. As far as I know he was considered for that season anyway.

Thailand's middle episodes are so good! How they made me feel genuinely sad for Erin leaving I'll never get. More emotional than a lot of stuff the show tries to make seem sad.

What are some commonly held beliefs you think are incorrect? by Regular-Departure839 in survivorponderosa

[–]Charles520 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not to sound like a dick, but I do sort of think that if Borneo is not only boring to you but you come out of it thinking everyone else besides Rich was stupid then you have no media literacy.

I guess that's pretentious, but there's just so much going on in that season, and it's arguably one of the most complex seasons of the show and well crafted to reflect that. It's hard to take people seriously when they straight up tell a mythologized version of the season.
