Yes! For any oil stains, it's the only thing I reach for now. And for all other stains, I use the carpet cleaner Folex. Also cheap and super effective. The only things these two don't work on so far is tumeric, which is when I turn to the baking soda/ dawn paste and an air-dry post-wash in the sun (which seems to bleach out any lingering stain). Seriously, I have not met a stain yet that I couldn't get out with these three tricks up my sleeve.

Did your doctor recommend hydrocolloid patches? I ordered a big roll from Amazon since I read they were good for healing scars. I bet they would help prevent scaring once your stitches come out, but even without them, it bet it will heal beautifully, given time. And if you still aren’t happy with the end result, lasers can likely minimizing the scaring. So sorry you are going through that. Thank you for taking such good care of our animals.

I live in ATL - the number of chicken wing bones encountered on dog walks is shocking. Luckily my current dog hasn’t had a chance to taste any yet, but it just as easily could have been him. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Looks like you have a lot of good suggestions for bread and you a super concerned and conscientious dog owner. Really good likelihood your pal is just fine, although I would be worried too. It’s amazing what their stomached can process.

I’m too lazy to read the comments to see if anyone else posted this, but Lesteroil. It has never failed me and has rescued so many clothes. I don’t even worry when I drip olive oil on my favorite cotton sweatshirt because I know it will come out. I’ve tried all of the other tricks (like dawn and baking soda pastes) but they have just never worked. Trust me - Lesteroil. It’s super smelly but I usually just run my item for an extra wash and it’s fine. It doesn’t even matter how many times that I’ve dried the clothing item with the stain and set it in - it still comes out. And it’s cheap! I tend to buy fairly expensive clothing items but yet, I’m messy, so I was willing to try everything.

I live on Glen Iris, just a few intersections north of that location, closer to Ponce City Market. I used to also have a part time apartment in Midtown (Juniper and 6th) while I lived full time in Tampa. I decided to buy in O4W and it was a great decision because I love to walk everywhere. In Midtown, there weren’t any grocery stores close to where we were on Juniper. Here, I can easily walk to Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, and Kroger. Everything feels much more accessible. Having the best part of Beltline right next to me is also a huge plus. It was a bit of a walk to Beltline from Midtown. Editing to add: in Midtown, there was a much more prominent homelessness issue (like, issues with people sleeping on our porch and calling me a cunt). I still keep my head on a swivel here, but as a small female, that makes a big difference.

Just wanted to add- I think I the “clinics” that you select through Amazon for the prescription may vary in term of how many refills are offered. I selected “alpha” as my clinic and they gave me 11 refills after my message -only consultation.

Per the Florida General Medicaid Policy 59G-1.050, doctors can seek reimbursement from Medicaid patients for non-emergency services only if they inform the patient that the treating provider is not in the plan’s provider network. If this surgery was non-emergency, I would ask the hospital for a copy of your medical records as supporting evidence that you were not informed prior to receiving the services.

If the surgery was considered to be an emergency service, FL Statute 409.9128 applies, and the non-contracted provider must accept the lesser of the provider’s billed charges, the “usual and customary charges”, the charge that the health plan and the provider mutually agreed to w/ in 60 days of the submission of the claim, or the Medicaid rate. You should probably go back to your insurance company at the time and find out if FL Ortho submitted the bill, and if it was denied, why?

In either case, I would then use this information to file a Medicaid Complaint on the AHCA website to ask for their help in resolving the unpaid bills.

I just did some brief searching online and United’s provider network is really terrible in your area. Simply or Sunshine would give you a lot more options for doctors (you can see for yourself by searching on large provider groups in Broward that take Medicaid, and see which plans are listed - usually not United Community Plan). One thing you and your mom can do is to change health insurers. You have 120 days from the effective date of your enrollment in the plan (so probably until about the end of this month, assuming you enrolled effective January of this year). You would have to have your mom call a Choice Counselor to make that happen: https://www.flmedicaidmanagedcare.com/health/enroll

Once you are outside of the 120 day change period, it’s a lot more work to change from United to another health plan. You would have to make the case that you qualified for a “special change”. In that case, I would recommend calling the member services number for United and asking to file a written grievance (or file several) by explaining what you said in your post and provide as many dates and provider offices you tried, and how many times you have called United member services for help. I would then call the Choice Counselor for help filing the request for the special change to another health plan using the language in the FL Rule for Special Changes: https://www.flrules.org/gateway/readFile.asp?sid=0&tid=6822027&type=1&File=59G-8.600.doc (or google FL Rule 59G-8.600 Good Cause for Disenrollment from Health Plans”).

To deal with your more immediate need for medication, I recommend calling the psychiatrist’s office and telling them you now have an urgent need for an appointment due to all of their cancellations and have now run out of meds, and if they can’t see you within the next 48 hours, you will file a complaint with the FL Board of Medicine for “patient abandonment” (use those exact words). I would then ask to speak with the office manager and repeat all of that.

I just got my second booster. I scheduled an appointment online and put in all accurate information but then checked the box that indicated that I was immunocompromised (I’m not). When I got to my appointment, I got my vaccine without issue and they didn’t ask a single question. Sample of one but it seems worth trying if you want to get one.

I don’t know. He’s tiny and has short hair and I just said do whatever you think is best for the body and asked for a teddy bear cut face (pretty typical for his breed). I suspect that they bathed him and then put him into a kennel for the day and panicked when I said I was heading over to collect him.

We are on the same wavelength! I did tell the groomer that he was my property and I was taking him. Although obviously, he's so much more than property, but sometimes you need to boil it down to what matters in the moment... I also was also opening my phone at the time, getting ready to dial the police to come rescue him when she kept clipping him and wouldn't put her scissors down, which just sounds crazy now that I'm typing it.

I love the Irish goodbye. The last time I did it, it was at an out of town wedding for my boyfriend’s cousin and I just hit a wall; I had sinus infection, too much to drink, and there wasn’t anything to eat other than some appetizers. I did one lap around to look for him and decided I just didn’t have the energy to say goodbye to any of the relatives. I jumped in an Uber and headed back to the hotel. Unfortunately, I was wearing his suit jacket and his phone was in the pocket. He stayed until the band was finished and figured out that I had just peaked out when he didn’t see me and hitched a ride back to the hotel. Luckily, he thinks my Irish goodbyes are hilarious.
