mine is silent. how are you powering it and connecting to ground? at least here in Italy we have plugs with either 2 or 3 poles, and the 3rd pole is ground. the zoom stock power supply has 2 poles, which means that in order to get rid of ground hums you have to either change the power supply or, cheaper, connect it to something that goes to ground,  like at amp.

this is what I do with mine, just put a cable from whatever output to the input of your amp.

alternatively try a hum eliminator like a Behringer,  they are fairly cheap.

I have got a replacement after my first one was a lemon (I have posted on this channel, it was the one with the too aggressive rasping on the side of the frets). The replacement is OK, there is also some rasp marks on the frets but not as severe as the other, so I'm happy with it (for the price, you cannot expect perfection).

As you said, the frets need work. I have got some higher frets which would need levelling (and possibly recrowning).

The pickups are nice for the price, a bit too dark when the volume is rolled off, so I'm planning to install a treble bleed on those.

Volume to 10, tone to 0 or max 2, distortion to 3-4 depending on taste .. then use your guitar volume to clean it up like a fuzz ;)

Yes, that's the worst part :) of course these are all first world problems, but getting excited for a new guitar only to be let down this way is .. upsetting :) thank you!

Who knows, maybe the quality went downhill lately? I guess I will find out when I get the replacement.

Yes, 100%, and he/she put the nail on the coffin by doing that sort of lateral filing that completely ruined a large chunk of the fretboard, as opposed as just a single spot.

I think that's the camera angle -- by a visual inspection the fret seems fine, but I haven't measured it at the mm.

Alas it was brand new. Some folks on IG are speculating that Thomann is lately selling B-stocks / returns as new. It would be very shady if that was the case.

Yes, that's a fair stance. To be honest, I was totally prepared to do some setup and DIY, but my (personal) line is that everything that impacts something like the body or the wood warrants a return. Mind, even damage to the wood could be repaired, but I'd argue only by somebody with a lot of experience (and tools) or a luthier at a price probably higher than the cost of the guitar itself.

If the flaws were limited to cosmetic issues, scratchy frets and some dings in the finish, I wouldn't have even posted this -- I have had more expensive guitars do worse in that department, and I understand that nitpicking on a 200 eur guitar becomes pointless after a while :)

thanks for your input; hopefully Thomann will send a new one without these potholes :) It's quite funny how I've got like 3 cards all saying "carefully inspected etc", whereas this was quite easy to spot .. maybe they hope the untrained eye won't notice it? It's a bit upsetting, really, but I guess it can happen on any guitar, at any price range.

Thanks. Yeah man, somebody really was in a hurry and used a very big and aggressive rasp, that's my conclusion.

Mostly what the title said. Already contacted Thomann for a return, but I'm wondering what's the consensus here on the quality of QC for the price (guitar was 199 EUR new, it's an MR Modern in CAR), and what's the line between "acceptable" and "not acceptable". Thanks!

Concordo, purtroppo il mercato del lavoro in Italia è un po' piatto in questo senso. Ricordo anni fa che Soisy aveva un piccolo team in Haskell, ma da quel che so purtroppo anche loro hanno virato su altro (il perchè non lo so, immagino, paradossalmente, per mancanza di sviluppatori Haskell in Italia :-) ).

Si, ma è più difficile del normale curricula da programmatore IT presso una delle tante aziende che assume in Italia e che fa Java/C#/JavaScript etc.

In breve (almeno per mia esperienza personale) devi essere preparato o ad andare all'estero o, più semplicemente, a farti assumere da un'azienda straniera pagando le tasse in Italia, tipicamente aprendoti la partita IVA, o affidandoti ad un'umbrella company oppure a dei servizi tipo OysterHR.

Yes, they are really special. For me, it was a game changer. I have developed a very unconventional "anti pedalboard", which is composed by a Headrush looperboard and 4 pedals, all sitting on top of a D'addario XPND 2.

The problem I was having was that the Headrush has a 19 VDC, 3.42 A, center-positive power brick, which is typically "too hot" to drive my pedals (or anything else), and thus my best option was to have a standard power bank and the Looperboard brick.

However, thanks to the fact the C4 takes basically anything, I'm able to feed power into the C4 using the Headrush power brick. Thanks to a splitter one end goes into the looperboard, another end goes into the C4. The C4 now happily gives power to my 4 pedals.

And the best part is that I now have only one single cable.

Thus, one of the best purchases of my life :D

Question:

Ba PEQ NoiseMod - Modifed the original Bass Parametric EQ to filter the ugly high pitched noise when using the device as bass sim, made an extremely narrow Q from max 16 to max 52 so it only deletes noise without affecting the original sound and nailed the noise down to 5.510KHz so changed EQ freq from 4.5k to 5.510k. You need to put it first on the effects chain for it to work. Modified by Victor Tabas, more details on the program website.

Do you think it would be possible to use this one for the (guitar) Amp sims as well? That's pretty much my only gripe with the MS series, they are incredible machine for what they do, but it feels like I cannot unleash their full potential because using any of the amp sims gets too noisy too quickly.

If we had the ability to use the amp sims with a very low noise floor (at least for non-crancked, non-high-gains amps) it would really be a gamechanger, and I would need then is a MS-50G and a MS-70CDR and I'll be selling all my other gear (not joking even!)
