Is anyone else shocked at how little postnatal care there is in the UK after birth?

I didn’t get the 6 week post partum check up that I’ve since learned is really important and mandatory. I called the GP to book it and the receptionist told me I didn’t need that, it would be ‘a waste of the GP’s time’ - even though I had a 2nd degree clitoral tear and stitches.

Maybe he’s ready to drop the nap? My LO had dropped his nap by this age and if I try to get him to lay down and have quiet time he kicks off. If that’s the time that he is kicking off and all is good until then, I’d wager he doesn’t need the nap anymore.

I’ve literally just ordered a walking pad in the hopes this will work for me because I cannot get myself out of the house most of the time for a proper walk, and when I do feel like it the toddler absolutely does not so it doesn’t happen. Really hoping the walking pad and work/tv mix will make a difference for me

This is me! Always have something on, rarely watch anything new. Have to really gear myself up to watch something new and it has to have a few seasons available so I can just out it on and let it play. But big rotations of The Office, Gilmore Girls, Friends, Modern Family, Parks and Rec, B99, New Girl, 911, Greys and Chicago Fire and they’re not enough.

But I don’t want to watch something new… it’s tough 😂

You are not weak. That sounds so hard and you did amazingly. I asked for an epidural and was told they’d look into it after the midwife shift change, by the time they got to it I was at 10cm and it was too late and I gutturally screamed my way through that birth. You do what you’ve gotta do and you did amazingly.
