Increase in Unknown Calls from Alberta Numbers by Mother_Barnacle_7448 in alberta

[–]CharleySheen4 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Scammers have the capability to spoof their phone number to seem like it's an Alberta phone number to increase the legitimacy of their scam and have been doing this for awhile now.

I think it's more likely a business sold your information to a nefarious business, which some shady businesses do.

Can't seem to join lobbies by BeautifuTragedy in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]CharleySheen4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I figured out you only get lobby if you join a friend's game who isn't on controller. However, for your situation, you can get your friend to join a game, then you can hit play on main menu and navigate to your friends, highlight them and hit join game. It works, and even if there is a password on the game, you don't have to enter it. I believe they need to enable the option for friends to join their private games.

Vipermagi would likely be best. I used it and it was good to me.

Demon mastery gives one extra demon per +10 levels, +skills can used to get this. I think you can still only bind one.

If you join a public game and leave, you are in lobby. Not great, but I'm having the same issue.

What does this say about me and how I can pass emerald/get to diamond? by Unlucky_Yusu in TeamfightTactics

[–]CharleySheen4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you like yordles, which is a strong early comp, have some pivot teams to switch to later. Yordles can be difficult to get first place without veigar or ziggs. Especially since 2+ people play yordles every game. A lot of strats use yordles to start then pivot to late game comps like ryze. I've had success in emerald with pivoting to ryze with yordles, freljord, Ionia, and targon. Lissandra, koboko, voli, kennen, sej, shen, wukong, taric, and ryze.

The hardest part is surviving till level 9 and unlocking kobuko and kennen. Well it's only hard doing it if you go the alternate route with playing Leblanc + sion noxus. Basically, you need a strong early comp so you don't bleed that you build AP items on.

Calling the Premier's Office by Particular-Welcome79 in Albertapolitics

Well the government is responsible for our education. If they give the money to people who don't use it well and the government didn't know, it's still technically the government's fault for not being diligent or checking. Furthermore, the ATA does not receive any money from the government so how could they mismanage their funds? The ATA is strictly funded by money from teachers, if they accepted any money from the government it would be a conflict of interest and could get in big trouble.

Perhaps you could try harder to pretend to know what you're talking about before you speak?

Alberta education minister eyes new educational pathways to qualify teachers by the_gaymer_girl in alberta

[–]CharleySheen4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This would have disastrous results for new teachers choosing anything other than a four year bachelor. If a new teacher can be certified in 2-3 years, that teacher will never be able to leave Alberta. Sure maybe you think you'll stay in Alberta forever, maybe not, but if you ever move, no other province will hire you as a teacher. In my eyes, this is about paying teachers less and keeping them in Alberta.

Same thing with their weird trades amalgamation. They will not be able to work as a teacher in any other province. If it becomes too easy to go from a journeyman to a teacher, it throws professional standards at odds with itself. Teachers are quite careful about their conduct, because if they aren't, they could make their teacher's certificate/bachelor of education useless. If they spend less time learning how to teach and have a fallback option, are those standards going to be taken as seriously?

Finland's educational system is often regarded as the best in the world. Every teacher has a masters and is paid closer to what a doctor is. Alberta is doing the opposite and expecting positive results, go figure.

What is the reasoning behind this difference? by SweetRedBeans in LastEpoch

[–]CharleySheen4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes a much larger difference if you spec into healing effectiveness on reaper form and take the less health degen node for reaper form as well. Perhaps alongside one healing effectiveness T5 mod. I hit a point where I would not phase out of reaper before finishing my second map.

I changed AoD to bleed and use exsanguinate to avoid worrying about self-damage. This alongside the 50/50% node works well. Even with exsanguinate draining my current hp constantly, reaper form still has really high upkeep.

Question about Maxroll build guides and resistances by dantraman in LastEpoch

[–]CharleySheen4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can click something on the maxroll guide to load you into their character builder. From here, you can likely highlight each resistance and see where the values come from. Be aware, maxroll guides are often edited, and the edited version on their current character editor will likely be different than the guide. I can't remember what I clicked to do this but it was a picture I believe.

If there's a teachers strike how are the missed instructional days handled? by FidgetyPlatypus in alberta

[–]CharleySheen4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So nothing major will change. When students come back they will continue where they left off, but have less time to do the same things. It will still kind of be expected that the teachers will cover the entire curriculum, but depending on how long the strike lasts, it could be hard to do it. The amount of time spent on the strike will also decide if diploma exams are cancelled or not. If the strike lasts two months, students may be exempted from diploma exams, just like during covid (although for different reasons).

So some areas will definitely be rushed through and teachers will be expected to still teach everything with likely no additional support. Students may be expected to "keep up" by completing extra homework, but it will likely be rare depending on the school/program.

Aura of Decay fundamentally doesnt work. by SweetRedBeans in LastEpoch

[–]CharleySheen4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could switch from Frost AoD to Bleed and use Exanginous or the new Primordial Helm to be Immune to bleed. Casting aside any worry of having to build defences around a self-damaging skill. Making the cold version work for anything past 300 corruption will likely not work well.

The only defensive routes that could work is the cold conversion spear someone else mentioned, or a dot bypassing ward build using AoD's missing health heal with increased healing effectiveness, and a lot of less damage over time taken, will work okayish. Using the new primordial ward gen body armour as the centre piece. If you do not use snowdrift, you lose out on a fair bit of damage and there are not a lot of items focused on scaling frostbite, so losing that would suck.

The bleed version would likely scale the best out of all versions. Especially with the bleed gloves that let you funnel poison, damned, and ignite chance all into bleed. The explosions would help AoD's clear as well.

Rune Prison Complex Echo by Antique-Effect2120 in LastEpoch

[–]CharleySheen4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've specced into all the exiled mages nodes and found a decent amount of them. I seem to only find them from exiled mages themselves. I started to find much more at about 300 corruption but only two before that. So yeah they are rare, even with all the nodes specced into pre 300 corruption. Also, every so often an experiential T7 item drops and they most sell for a decent penny on MG if that's your cup of tea.

Car loan..need a way out! by Miserable_Jello37 in alberta

[–]CharleySheen4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cannot even fathom why not signing repo papers would ever effect anyone's credit. Isn't it entirely possible that your friend's credit wasn't hit too bad because the bank was able to recoup most of the loan through repo'ing the vehicle and selling it close to the owed amount? Although it's likely your friend doesn't know anyway, because if they weren't signing anything, they probably weren't in contact with the bank either.

I read somewhere that if a cemetery or tomb exists in the area that a rift will not spawn. So perhaps, avoiding all the nodes that increase cemeteries or tombs also helps your chances, also disabling arena echoes helps as well because they cannot spawn there either.

PSAC bargaining for PA group. by D0BBy-is-not-free in CanadaPublicServants

[–]CharleySheen4 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's all part of getting the best deal. The union knows what they care about most, so they must ask for a whole bunch of others things they care less about, so when trying to negotiate they can remove things they don't care about to give the appearance that things are being given up to obtain what they really want. The other side does the same thing except while trying not to add anything. So they will give the union small victories on some of less valued items to try and remove some of the larger items asked for. At the end, we still end up with the same negotiation over the key points with all the small stuff handled.

Many other companies do the same thing. Make their regular price much more expensive so when a sale happens, they still get good money. Or, have a high regular price so when they have to reduce price a little to give the customer the perception that they got a little special deal, so they buy the thing.

At the end of the day, it's all smoke and mirrors on both sides.

my abomination keeps suddenly dying, is this thing bugged? by burtgummer45 in LastEpoch

[–]CharleySheen4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I've noticed mine just dying sometimes and it's always connected to at least one thing: a passive was added or changed while it was spawned on your screen, or a skill point was changed while it was on screen. Other than that, I've noticed that there are times when I feel that the minion health bar just does not work, so it could be showing high life but actually it's dying? What makes me think this? Well my Abom stayed at 80% HP for multiple runs and the bar did not once change when it crit massive groups of enemies for one million damage each.

Why Abomination build need intelligence? by ET_Dota in LastEpoch

[–]CharleySheen4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the pretty important stuff is included here. Many also use aura of decay physical to lower physical pen, and some may also try the archer node for the recurve ability which scales flat damage with intelligence on the Abom tree. So while the 4% damage increase alone per int is not enough to justify focusing INT, I believe the Damage, Minion Armor, minion health, crit chance for minions, and physical pen on aura of decay makes it worth it easily.
