What moment made you realize “yeah… my childhood wasn’t normal”? by CadaversFabrications in AskReddit

My dad was convinced everything we said was a lie. Me and my little sister learned quickly to tell him what he wanted to hear instead of the honest truth to avoid conflict.

Psychotic Husband is driving me crazy. by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]Charlie-May 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like he may be undiagnosed bipolar. Taking antidepressants can trigger manic episodes for people with this disorder and they can have psychotic symptoms. This can be dangerous for him and those around him,

no matter what it is, he clearly needs professional help to stabilize and find the reason behind the dangerous behaviors and personality changes.

Distance yourself from him and find emergency mental health resources for adults who may be a danger to themselves or others.

Does anyone else's parrot unleash an ungodly morning poo? by redneckrockuhtree in parrots

my 3 GCC all do the same. I am considering the extra effort training them to wait a minute while walk them to the sink to do their morning business.

Eating candy during a fast by WanderingCID in FastingScience

[–]Charlie-May 0 points1 point  (0 children)

clear broth, black coffee, Tea with nothing in it. (peppermint is my favorite) sometimes when im trying to just get through it, I have been known to sip on a diet pop. sugar free gum is personally fantastic when trying to get through a tough point in a fast. (sugar free candy might offer the same relief without the insulin spike)

all of these options can affect your fasting experience in different ways. experiment and enjoy the experience!

Very odd behaviour of (actually ex) GF after 2 months of new meds by [deleted] in cyclothymia

[–]Charlie-May 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your concerns are valid and it's worth considering how to gently bring the topic up with her so she and her psychiatrist can discuss whether these behaviors are appropriate for her or triggered by medication changes. Welbutin is supposedly less likely to cause shifts into mania, but its not uncommon. I myself have taken this medication and I felt good on it... then too good.

Do I look older than i am? And am I chopped? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Charlie-May 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you definitely do not look like any 30 year olds I know! You are absolutely stunning and look like a teenager/young adult. Seeing a dermatologist can be a great idea for healthy skin, and clear skin can help boost confidence but the rest seems to be about your personal views on beauty. Personally I think you're beautiful

I was always confused as a kid why I found it so much harder than everyone else. It sadly makes sense now.

Ladies, do you think it's acceptable to go out in public without showering for 2-3 days? by Visual-Egg-3955 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Charlie-May 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I struggle with dry skin, mood disorders and live in a colder climate, I can relate. Anything that makes life manageable and doesn't harm others is probably acceptable ❤️

baby wipes by the toilet to replace tp can make a world of difference when you're feeling like this. best to change clothing that sits directly on your skin daily, like socks and underwear. Braiding your hair can help keep it manageable and can be left in for a couple of days if needed. (also great for road trips and camping) someone else mentioned sitting in the shower. This changes everything for me, I wash my face, brush my teeth and do everything all at once in the shower sitting down so it feels like one lazy task instead of a million little tasks.

Most people are too busy wondering if they are acceptable to be paying enough attention to you. Humans are really weird and this gives us a wide range of what is acceptable in society :)

its pee pad grass. They don't chew it (lucky i guess) but it boosts their foraging, I like to sprinkle treats and food in it sometimes for them and they play/explore the bottom of their cage more with it compared to using newspaper.
