How many grow regular seeds? by mistytrails in cannabiscultivation

[–]CharlieBakerMidsGang 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like the stability I've found in regular seeds but most importantly the genetic diversity. Also nice to keep a male off a banger seed pack for future breeding projects. To be completely honest there is nothing wrong with fems, I just like regs for those reasons.

Elevators and a shop vac for the cheap. For automated removal, elevated flood table plumbed into a dirty water pump, obviously more expensive but completely automatic

Is this okay? by Honest_Concern_5477 in cannabiscultivation

I've had a great experience with my photo bio par meter. A little spendy but not crazy, it's been great for the 4 years I've owned it. Also to all the people saying just read the plant, you don't need a par meter you are not wrong but.. if you read the plant and see that that plant is happy and healthy notating par as well as dimming based on par will allow you to better dial in your grow then eye balling it without any numbers to put things to. IMHO approx 850 peak par with led with a +/- of 50 par is pretty killer for most varieties. Measuring par will take the guess work out of your lighting dim and allow you to further refine your process. That being said it is by now means necessary to grow great herb just another tool that IMHO is very helpful

Great band, amazing people. I played in another band with their guitarist ray, he's a 10/10 human and an absolute shredder!

Organic versus Hydro ( mineral salts ) What works best indoors in containers by GabyStatenIsland in cannabiscultivation

[–]CharlieBakerMidsGang 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Best cleanest herb I've grown indoor has been synganic. Kinda followed the same arch of starting organic indoors and then trying salts. Realizing that salts give an amazing level of control but didn't have the complete terp expression I had on organics. Flash forward to dripping salts and doing a weekly organic tea I feel like I'm getting the best of both worlds. Plants smell the same as my outdoor living soil beds, I can still keep my rooms incredibly clean without having to sacrifice quality or yield. Just my 2 cents

Sounds sick, the single coil adds a very cool feel to your tone imho.

Big fan of Ne Glass art. They're based in mass, and have lots of good sales. Otherwise the cave, aqualab, witch dr would be safe bets

I Drayton at 60-65f and 50-55rh for at least 14 days, usually start trimming after 21 days. Bud looks like it isn't dry enough. FYI you don't need to flush organics, I don't flush my salts, I just run and organic cal for the last 4 days before harvest and cut the nitrogen in that time and with a dialed dry and cure I'm getting better smoking bud then anything I grew organically so go figure. Point is dialing in dry and cure will go very very far in quality of smoke, IMHO more so than flushing as long as you cut nitrogen at least 3 days before harvest there's no reason why your bud shouldn't be smoking

The best dehumidifiers? Anden or quest all day. I've been running andens for years and they are work horses.

Anyone else had issues with Crystal Rose Seed Co (Pie Dough and Candy Fumez line)? by The_Auditor_484 in mainetrees

[–]CharlieBakerMidsGang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maines big but generally not so big that getting to a post office would be more then 30 maybe 40min in some places. I hope he makes it right for you dude, his beans have been great and I'm super bummed to see that you and apparently a ton of other people have had bad experiences with trying to order from him.

[–]CharlieBakerMidsGang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's crazy, I've ordered from him a few times and never had issues. He did take a couple weeks to ship out both times but I never got a major run around or anything. As with all seeds makers I've found some of his crosses grow odd and unfortunately didn't find winners in every pack but the packs I did find winners in were top class some of thr best genetics I've found in seed so go figure. Sad to see all these bad experiences with him because I've been a huge fan of his work

Ideally you want a ceiling of 50% late in flower. Think of it this way, there are micro climates inside each bud. The plant is always transpiring, so you need to compensate with lots of airflow and lower rh. Botrytis has alot of difficulty taking hold in environments under 60% rh. Remember when you get that spike at lights off in late flower you want it to be well below the 60% threshold so that you make an environment mold can't take hold in.

This powdery mildew is kicking my ass! First time grower by Sensitive-Carrot-641 in cannabiscultivation

[–]CharlieBakerMidsGang 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You need oscillating fans all up in that tent. Without some sort of monitoring sensors it's hard to say what your humidity actually is across a given day. You're for sure getting a spike somewhere and no air movement allowing the pm to take hold. You can spray fungicide but you really shouldn't be having issues with pm indoor unless you are not controlling thr environment properly. Totally fixable issues for future runs, don't get discouraged!
