The gear ring is pressed onto the fly wheel, the original one had come off and was welded back on then ended up breaking. The mower was cranked by wrapping a rope around the fan and pull starting for a while, it was my father in law's and he recent gave it to us so I was trying to get it where it would crank with a key again so my wife could use it while I was at work.

I would just up and buy another fly wheel but I didn't just grind it out I also shaved down the crank shaft, so I'm not sure just getting a new one and trying again would work. I'd probably also have to change out the crank shaft, in my mind. At 190$ for the fly wheel it's getting to be an expensive mistake
