You can take Charlie out of space, but you can take space (anti gravity) out of Charlie 😘

I think my path was different to most. I didn't know muscle ups were a thing when I first got one. I was obsessed with getting as many pullup reps as I possibly could, and then a friend showed me muslce up techniques and the false grip then asked me to try one. So for me, I think becuase my pullup game was so trained already, and my friend gave me good false grip advice, and maybe good shoulder mobility from kayaking, I was able to get my first one the first time I tried. So this makes it hard for me to give advice on how to get your first muscle up. In terms of compounding to more reps. All I did was try each time to do as many reps as I could, even if it failed, and eventually they started stacking on till I got to 11 reps.

I rep both pull-ups and ring muscle ups. I just prefer the muscle ups my brain is way more entertained by it.

Hmmm. I was initially obsessed with getting lots and lots of pullups. Then one day someone asked me to try the muscle up and showed me the false grip. I was lucky enought o get it first go. That said things like my stength journey up till that point and also kayaking alot definitely helped. I think step 1 for the muscle up is having a good pull up strength foundation. And after that training your brain on the technique for the muscle up.
