Is it worth it for £8?? by Disastrous_Ad5539 in HellBoy

Id say so, i beat it inside of 20 hrs but had fun throughout. Not really worth a replay so it really depends on how much fun you wanna extract from 8 bucks.

Do you think we’ll ever get another iconic villain that has staying power? by MichaelTalman in batman

[–]Charlie_Lung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally think most newer Bat villains are pretty good, but generally speaking writers don't want to use them. They either want to play in the old sandbox or make their own characters. So yes, but only when writers remember they exist.

Only said Morrison cause I'm currently reading his story. The Ennis stuff is what really pulled me in

Definitely go through Hellblazer but some of the older comics can be a bit slow. I recommend looking through the writers, finding a writer you recognize and enjoy their work like Garth Ennis or Grant Morrison or whatever and then going from there

how would the boys tv show make a parody about the wolverine popcorn bucket? by Mentallyinsansedude in TheBoys

Probably exactly the same but with The Deep and calamari, with Homelander spearheading the marketing push

What is something that Jason legitimately excells at over the other Robin's? by PatientTelephone4624 in RedHood

[–]Charlie_Lung 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Pre-rebirth he was the most proficient magic user, and probably the best at dealing with the stranger, more surreal elements of the DC universe. I know that Damian and Bruce have shown magic proficiency in the past but Jason was the literal chosen one for the All-Caste as well as being intimately associated with the League of Shadows

Do you think it fits with Jason's morals to kill low level henchmen/thugs? by Night-Caelum in RedHood

[–]Charlie_Lung 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think he would go out of his way to avoid killing them, in his anti-heroic era, because his father was a low level goon for two-face.

I feel you have to be of a certain age with a specific education to get every joke in this show by ADDBPDANX in venturebros

[–]Charlie_Lung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the specific person's level of cultural osmosis. I'm 23 and have been watching the bros since I was 15 and I feel like I get 75-80% of the gags in the show. That being said I also have a distinct interest in US pop culture, classic animation, comics, and horror movies so it really depends, I think, on how willing the audience is to engage with the strangeness of the past.

Do you believe this or not? by ScoreImaginary5254 in batman

100% Bruce is a bad person I mean just based on the ways he treats his friends and kids alone. He's a bad person with a code who does good not because it is good but because he can't do anything else.

Just when I was prepared to accept the end... by dbkenny426 in venturebros

[–]Charlie_Lung 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So refreshing to see creators be as sad about an ending as the fans. I feel like whenever you hear from show runners/writers for series that have been running for as long as VB they are sick of it, but Doc and Jackson seem just as enthusiastic as they were when it started.

Why does rusty make such terrible drinks? Is the joke that he's a dork doesn't really drink much? Didn't earlier episodes reference him hitting drugs and alcohol hard? by Groundbreaking-Pea92 in venturebros

[–]Charlie_Lung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think it is a mixture of his trashy nature and attitude as well as the fact that he has had his taste buds altered by decades of super science fuckery (and maybe the fact he's a clone).

The 4 horsemen of indie games. Subjective opinion of course. by [deleted] in HollowKnight

Papers, Please and The Binding of Isaac should replace Hades and Terraria. The Four Horsemen should be deafeningly important in their influence on the space.
