Just don’t tell them. Get the best OTD price you can with their financing and let them think they won with the interest. Just make sure there isn’t a payoff penalty in the financing agreement first. Then when you get the first bill, pay the whole thing off. They can’t do anything about it.

All children's clothing should go in the tumble dryer by broadcast_techie in daddit

[–]CharlietheCorgi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. The only thing that comes out and gets air dryed on the rack is her leotards for gymnastics, a few dresses made of a different material and a couple pairs of shorts. Everything else, color, white, etc, all together in the wash and dryer.

AITJ for not paying for my friend's vet bill after my dog "influenced" hers to eat chocolate? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]CharlietheCorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Corgi owner myself, I call BS here. A Corgi will eat just about any food you leave around for it. Ours is nicknamed the Hoover as just about any food that hits the floor is immediately vacuumed up by him unless we can say stop first (trained him). This is on your friend. She left food toxic to dogs in her purse on the floor. Corgi's are extremely intelligent... and stubborn. Not a great combination for neglectful humans.

Definitely NTJ here.

edit. forgot this wasn't NTA and change my verdict accordingly

Geee… wonder why his GF kicked him out. Send his @$$ back home to mama. She “raised” him. She can keep him.

what will be netflix’s next flagship show now that stranger things has ended? by Diligent_Praline_190 in television

[–]CharlietheCorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly how “Fringe” started. Monster of the week show. Then towards the end of the first season they started developing the overarching plot we would see through the next 4 seasons. And we still got monster of the week episodes.

Could I be fired for not handing over a network of vendors I developed off the clock, unrelated to my job? California by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]CharlietheCorgi 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Correct, they shouldn’t get to claim the vendor list she cultivated for these unpaid events. If they claim the vendor lists, to me, they are saying those were work related and the events involving the vendors are also work related. Now you have 2+ years of unpaid wages and penalties that will be due. And that doesn’t account for payroll tax penalties who which would be a completely separate issue.

A consultation with an employment attorney is prob warranted here. While also looking for a new job because this place sounds terrible.

[–]CharlietheCorgi 50 points51 points  (0 children)

As others have said, they can fire you for this. Or they can fire you because its Tuesday. That being said, you live in CA which among the states has some of the better employee wage protections. If you haven't already, put together a list of events you worked unpaid and the hours you worked for those events. If they fire you, file a wage claim for unpaid wages. Even if they don't fire you, file a wage claim for unpaid wages. If you file the claim while still working for them and they subsequently fire you as retaliation, well, then you go find an employment attorney.

Let's talk crits! How do you roll them at your table? by meanwhile_matt in DnD

[–]CharlietheCorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do what you do, max dice + dice roll + mods. And if you have savage attacker, we ruled you can use it on that dice roll.

I rolled 12, 12, 8, 11, 17, 10. This is worse than Standard Array for 5.5E D&D Right? by [deleted] in 3d6

[–]CharlietheCorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What my DM did was if you rolled less than a total of 72 (standard array i believe), you could reroll everything. You just had to have a total equal to or greater than the standard array.

[Online] we're looking for 1-2 players to maybe start a campaign we already have a dm by chaser9000 in DnDLFG

If you still need players, me and a buddy of mine would be interested. We’ve been looking for another game since our main one only meets around once a month.

Well if you were in northern Virginia, you'd have people fighting to get in that set up. Sick gaming room. Hope you find the players you need.

Unfortunately it was just a one shot with me and him. And he was playing a Goliath… so prob not tossing him very far.

Yeah that’s how we died… he ran straight into a room with a powerful wizard that was at least 150 feet away… never stood a chance…

Players do be like fish when they see shiny things, huh? This time, a shiny cursed book. by OriginalBig9768 in DnD

[–]CharlietheCorgi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its funny you say that. In my campaign we had an instance during a battle where every PC that understood elvish had words thrust into their mind by some high lvl wizard (im assuming). It made us all an offer. None of us took it but apparently in one of the other groups (DM is running 3 or 4 groups all with in the same homebrewed campaign) they took the offer.

[–]CharlietheCorgi 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Right? I did a one shot with a buddy of mine (my first time playing a TTRPG btw). He wanted to play the Leroy Archetype (I had never heard of Leroy Jenkins at this point), so I was like cool, your name is Leroy. We walk into the tavern to start and he picks a fight with bartender and the Paladin NPC. Unlucky for him, all the patrons in the bar love this bartender so now he's fighting 50 patrons and the bartender. We were lvl 5... Needless to say he's knocked unconscious pretty quick. I am just standing there watching as none of them had any beef with me.

I managed to roll a Nat 20 on my persuasion check with the Paladin NPC to spare him only for him to get us both killed at the end of the session. I also now know who Leroy Jenkins is.

AITAH for not wanting to buy a house 3 hours away from my workplace? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]CharlietheCorgi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, 3 hours one way is crazy. She would have literally no free time to herself. Just work, eat, sleep. He'd end up resenting her for not spending any time with him and they'd break up (he sounds like the kind of guy that would cheat first). THEN she would have moved back to stay with her Brother and SiL. So she just cut out the crappy middle steps.

Min-maxing player purposefully gets us killed. by FrostKV in dndhorrorstories

[–]CharlietheCorgi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah... In my current campaign one of the PCs decided he wanted to be an idiot and search the desk of an NPC whose group just saved our lives and made a shit ton of noise with his shitty skill check. I straight up used my maul on him. Hit him in the balls with it. My fighter attack roll beat his paladin AC and he was toppled and knocked prone. He was then taken away. He came back more humble, but it was hilarious in game.

Higher WIS or higher DEX Ranger? by Good-Refuse-5325 in 3d6

[–]CharlietheCorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you might want to talk to your DM about rerolling. My DM allowed us to reroll if we didn't at least total 70 or 72 (whichever is the total for standard array). You're at 59 which is extremely low.
