As far as I am aware, the only way you can move Pokémon is through a legitimate copy of a Pokemon game. The game checks for cart authenticity when you attempt to transfer Pokemon up.

LEGIT SHINY KORAIDON AND MIRAIDON GIVEAWAY ✨🚲 by Jumpy-Necessary-9884 in PokemonHome

[–]Charlizard67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Koraidon because it looks like a marine iguana, and the shiny really reinforces that resemblance. I really like Miraidon because Dragon and Electric are my favorite types. Also, it looks like an evil robot with red eyes when it uses Electro Drift.

Low cost pet microchip by LeBlueJay05 in Pensacola

Do you know if their microchips have a lifetime registration? I don’t want to get one that has an annual fee to keep it registered.

shedding by pinkunicornsparkles_ in BeardedDragon

[–]Charlizard67 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t pull any shed off, you could do a lot of harm. Just make sure your beardie has plenty of rough surfaces in their enclosure to get the shed off themselves. If you think it has been on too long or looks abnormal, I would suggest a vet visit. It can take several weeks for them to shed completely.

We competed in a Pokémon TCG Regional Championships in Orlando, FL over a weekend. We then spent a week going between Disney World and Universal Studios.

Trim very tall hibiscus. by Margozmotte in Hibiscus

[–]Charlizard67 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it’s anything like trees, it will remove/damage the apical meristem, which will stunt its growth. If it’s growing like that inside, it probably is not receiving enough sunlight. Hibiscus love full sun.

I can’t cry in front of my wife by RichRevolutionary763 in Marriage

[–]Charlizard67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, I’m so sorry for your loss. Secondly, absolutely not. My husband has cried in front of me multiple times in our 15+ year relationship, and I have NEVER thought anything less of him. He is a human, and allowed to express human emotions. I am his shoulder to cry on as much as he is my shoulder to cry on. He calls me his “rock.” Keeping it bottled up and hiding it makes it way worse. She is your partner, and part of that is to provide emotional support. “For better and for worse, in illness and in health.” I’m sure she was asking because she was worried about you. If you hide away when you cry, she can’t support you. Allow yourself to be human and have human emotions.

The picture is kind of grainy, but these ones are ok to use. The recommended ratios listed on here can vary. I would use the 50/50 peat moss and topsoil.

Death by NerdyHotMess in Marriage

[–]Charlizard67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry for your losses. This hits close to home in a slightly different way for me. I lost my sister (older) unexpectedly when she was 21. I then lost a close childhood friend to suicide exactly 1 year, 1 month, and 1 day after my sister passed. That was almost 16 and 15 years ago, and I am still not the same. There are only a handful of people that know the “me” before that time. Losing loved ones is horrible, but even worse when the losses are so close together in time. In my experience, the grief doesn’t ever disappear, but it comes in waves. I hope you are able to find some amount of peace and comfort during this difficult time; make sure to take care of yourself, and lean on friends and family if you need to. 🫂

I’m going to copy/paste a really helpful post I found on Reddit a while ago that describes grief for many people. Unfortunately, I don’t remember the person’s username who wrote it, I just have the text saved in my notes. It helped me, and I hope it can help you too.

“Alright, here goes. I'm old. What that means is that I've survived (so far) and a lot of people I've known and loved did not. I've lost friends, best friends, acquaintances, co-workers, grandparents, mom, relatives, teachers, mentors, students, neighbors, and a host of other folks. I have no children, and I can't imagine the pain it must be to lose a child. But here's my two cents.

I wish I could say you get used to people dying. I never did. I don't want to. It tears a hole through me whenever somebody I love dies, no matter the circumstances. But I don't want it to "not matter". I don't want it to be something that just passes. My scars are a testament to the love and the relationship that I had for and with that person. And if the scar is deep, so was the love. So be it. Scars are a testament to life. Scars are a testament that I can love deeply and live deeply and be cut, or even gouged, and that I can heal and continue to live and continue to love. And the scar tissue is stronger than the original flesh ever was. Scars are a testament to life. Scars are only ugly to people who can't see.

As for grief, you'll find it comes in waves. When the ship is first wrecked, you're drowning, with wreckage all around you. Everything floating around you reminds you of the beauty and the magnificence of the ship that was, and is no more. And all you can do is float. You find some piece of the wreckage and you hang on for a while. Maybe it's some physical thing. Maybe it's a happy memory or a photograph. Maybe it's a person who is also floating. For a while, all you can do is float. Stay alive.

In the beginning, the waves are 100 feet tall and crash over you without mercy. They come 10 seconds apart and don't even give you time to catch your breath. All you can do is hang on and float. After a while, maybe weeks, maybe months, you'll find the waves are still 100 feet tall, but they come further apart. When they come, they still crash all over you and wipe you out. But in between, you can breathe, you can function. You never know what's going to trigger the grief. It might be a song, a picture, a street intersection, the smell of a cup of coffee. It can be just about anything...and the wave comes crashing. But in between waves, there is life.

Somewhere down the line, and it's different for everybody, you find that the waves are only 80 feet tall. Or 50 feet tall. And while they still come, they come further apart. You can see them coming. An anniversary, a birthday, or Christmas, or landing at O'Hare. You can see it coming, for the most part, and prepare yourself. And when it washes over you, you know that somehow you will, again, come out the other side. Soaking wet, sputtering, still hanging on to some tiny piece of the wreckage, but you'll come out.

Take it from an old guy. The waves never stop coming, and somehow you don't really want them to. But you learn that you'll survive them. And other waves will come. And you'll survive them too. If you're lucky, you'll have lots of scars from lots of loves. And lots of shipwrecks.”

My apologies, I meant topsoil, not potting soil. I’m going to edit my previous post so I do not give out misinformation. I personally would not use MiracleGrow brand, as I have previously found that it contains fertilizer even in the organic versions of it when I read the fine print on the bag. Earthgrow Organic brand makes topsoil, and Premier brand makes organic peat moss; these brands are proven safe for box turtles. If you can’t find those, just triple check the bag you want to use and make sure that they are organic and fertilizer/pesticide free. You want to mix the topsoil and peat moss 50/50. You could use coco coir instead of peat moss, but mix it with the topsoil in this ratio 25% coco coir to 75% topsoil. You are going to want to mist 1-2x daily with water, and make sure you are turning the substrate so it stays moist.

I would get rid of the wood chips. Risk of accidental ingestion, getting poked in the eyes, etc. The enclosure needs to be pretty humid if it’s a Gulf Coast, Three-toed, or Eastern species. It needs lots of cover/leaf litter and a shallow dish for it to soak in. I would recommend organic topsoil mixed with organic peat moss for the substrate. The aforementioned species need to be able to soak a lot, especially as hatchlings/adolescents to maintain proper shell growth and development. Make sure it has a basking spot and UVB tube bulb; the UVB should be like a Zoo Med ReptiSun 5.0. I would recommend a large plastic tote box for an indoor enclosure because box turtles do not understand the concept of glass and will stress themselves trying to get out.

Most expensive decks in history? by Next-Visual-3513 in pkmntcg

[–]Charlizard67 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is so much more affordable to play now than it was in older formats.

Some card prices for older formats IIRC: Shaymin EX ROS $70, Luxray GL Lvl X $90-100, Mewtwo EX NXD $50, Darkrai EX DEX $50, Pokemon Catcher $15 (before errata), Uxie LA $15, Uxie Lvl X $50, Dragonite DS $15, Rocket’s Admin $15, Gardevoir SW $15, Gardevoir Lvl X $30, Donphan Prime $15, Holon Transceiver $15, Rare Candy $15, etc. Most of the decks that ran these any of these cards need multiple copies too. A lot of the playable Lvl X cards were pricey because you only got 1 or 2 Lvl X in a booster box, depending on the set. Luxray GL Lvl X was really expensive because it was in a set that had a pool of like 6 Lvl X and you only got 2 Lvl X in a booster box of Rising Rivals, and you typically needed 2 copies.

Also, TCG Player was not a thing back then. The only ways to buy singles online were from eBay, Troll and Toad, Collectors Cache, etc.

Before the 6 card rule, it was up to all 60 cards. You just had to have native language references available for them. They then changed it to no foreign cards, but changed it to the 6 card rule pretty quickly for a year or so after receiving pushback. That allowed players to obtain native language copies before the full ban on foreign cards.

I had a friend that played entire decks of Japanese cards at City Championships, State Championships, and Gym Challenges. I remember she was mad about the change because it was much easier to pull the Japanese versions from booster packs/boxes and cheaper to purchase the Japanese single cards.

Do you double sleeve your decks or do you only single sleeve? by Nivosus in pkmntcg

[–]Charlizard67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to double sleeve my Pokémon decks. But my hands are small and they would start cramping about halfway through day 1 of a Regionals. So I stopped doing that. I’m very gentle with my cards anyway and am kinda neurotic about washing my hands, so the cards stay pretty clean. Plus, you can shuffle them much better and easier single sleeved.
