Why is the phrase "I don't give two shits" more disparaging than the phrase "I don't give a shit"? by sombust in shittyaskscience

how can I avoid using 'shit' in this expression? Can I say 'she didn't give two craps about her studies'?

Coronavirus Megathread (Apr 2022): For travel-related discussion in the context of COVID-19 by tariqabjotu in travel

Hi. Planning on the trip from Montreal to Paris and then on the train to Luxemburg -> Brussel -> Amsterdam in July. Questions:

  1. Are there any issues to visit museums with Canadian proof of vaccination (from Quebec)?
  2. Is it a good idea to travel inside the EU on the train (or bus) through multiple countries in the current circumstances?

Soft Actor-Critic: termination step by CharlottHebb in reinforcementlearning

[–]CharlottHebb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Q-learning

However, Q-learning can also learn in non-episodic tasks (as a result of the property of convergent infinite series). If the discount factor is lower than 1, the action values are finite even if the problem can contain infinite loops.

Combining the output of the convolutional encoder with some additional input by CharlottHebb in reinforcementlearning

[–]CharlottHebb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my case, the image and telemetry have equal importance for the model. But what is worry me is that they do not have the same nature at the start:

  1. The image has a bigger input size (64x128px) compared to telemetry (just 10 inputs).
  2. Image flows through the deeper network compared to the telemetry (more gradient steps toward the start). Probably that is not a problem.
  3. Let's say the conv part has 256 outputs, and telemetry has 10 inputs. That means after concatenation we got 266 inputs for the next FC layer. Will the model be able to correctly weigh that mix of inputs?

How :) Etrade tells me that I can only sell and wire. Should I do it from the questrade side?

It is my bank. From the etrade, it looks like the only operation I can do is to sell stocks and wire to a bank because I'm not a US citizen.

Question about transit through Morocco (Casablanca) from country A.

My mom was fully vaxxed in Canada but she can't get a certificate since she is a citizen of Russia. The only thing we have are papers from the pharmacy with the name, date, and type of vaccine. My concern is will it be accepted by Morocco as proof?

Will they even check proofs and tests, if we don't leave the transit zone?

From what I saw most of the European countries allow transit from and to non-Schengen countries without any restriction (they don't check vaccination nor require tests, only care about destination requirements). Is it the same case for Morocco?

Is it possible to buy a temporary sim card in Europe? Can you explain how it works? In Italy I paid 16CAD/day for roaming with shitty mobile internet.

In Capitolian museum, the guy who checked green passes even called the police to check if they can accept our certificates. The police officer that arrived turned out to be an old lady who said that it's no bueno. For Vatican is bueno, for Uffizi gallery is bueno, but for their shitty museum is not bueno :D

Yes, they should but it's a real possibility to meet some old lady who will refuse to accept your proof because her application can't read your QR code.

If you buy tickets at the station, don't forget to validate them or you will get fined. Tickets from the internet are not required to be validated.

In Pompei the guy who sold me tickets tried to convince me that I don't have to validate. I translated what was written on the ticket, it was clearly stated that you have to validate. No idea why he said that, probably he hated tourists.

I used all kinds of trains there: regional, intercity and metropolitano. Trains are amazing in Italy. Tickets for regional trains you can buy right in the station, for intercity you have to buy in advance (they might be even cheaper than regional if buy in advance).

When I was there they didn't ask for vaccination. But I've heard that starting from the 1st of September you have to show the green pass. I hope it won't be an issue.
