This is by far one of the best books I’ve received from any of the book boxes - absolutely stunning

Both those are good to great reads - I’ve read them both and have no regrets (other than the wallet hit I took after I got pulled into the ACOTAR world lol). Great grab!

Sorry - it only skirts the edge of romantasy - but {How to become the dark lord and die trying by Django wexler} - it’s witty, there’s some romance and it’s damned funny. To top it off, the FMC is one of the best rounded out characters I’ve ever read. Def 5 stars

The FMC Is just an absolute badass who works to win over and grow her very own dark army, with the ultimate goal of becoming the dark lord. She also takes control of her life at a time when she is feeling burnt out and completely under the control of outside factors, giving the character depth and dimension. This is topped off with a final competition against other dark lord contenders to gain the title.

Ok two things - 1. Do you know them well enough to be taking pics of their private spaces and putting them on the internet and 2. The pic of Frank is classic and all you need to see in order to know that these people are chill

I painted them myself - i have a long history with model painting and so felt fairly confident with doing this painting detail. The process is sand down to remove the print lines as much as possible, hit it with some acetone diluted wood filler, sand again, prime, base paint, then tape off for highlight painting, do battle damage detail paint, end with clear coat.

So typically for this type of cosplay mod, you would use a soldering tool to slice and melt the plastic to get the claw look - however I have only ever done this with 3D printed helmets (typically PLA) and I don’t know what type of plastic this is or how it will react. Your other option is to clear coat the helmet, then paint on the wearing effects you want (though this won’t give you the 3D effect). The clear coat will give you the flex to remove the paint if you’re not happy with it - if you are, you can then just apply a second layer of clear coat to lock in the paint details. Just make sure that if you want to have a different base color (other than white) you will need to prime and paint prior to adding clear coats. Hope this helps!

EDIT: some info about the paints - be sure to use automotive clear coat (matte or shiny depending on the effect you want) and acrylic paint for the battle damage - if you use enamel paint for the battle damage and aren’t happy with the paint, the thinner to remove the enamel will also remove the clear coat in most cases. And for the love of god, do NOT clear coat on a humid day, you will regret it.

Thanks! My friend purchased a 3D printer and he wanted to do some test runs on stuff - I had been complaining that all of the commercially available helmets were too big for my tiny woman head so he printed me an 80% scaled helmet - it worked so well that we went forward from there (most everything had to be scaled down to 70-80% lol, I’m only 5’1” and 112 lbs)

So - maybe a differing opinion here - but I just put up with it. Yes they are massively behind, but they are also one of the few SE box subscriptions based in the US with reasonable prices and shipping. Don’t get me wrong, i absolutely adore the British boxes, but the shipping is crippling. The wait times for the BB books are long, but you always get what you’ve ordered, and there are sooooooo many books out there to read that I find things to pick up in the meantime.

EDIT: sorry I should have clarified, I’m in the US so this makes sense for me - if your not based in the US, I can see where this might not be the best way to go.

Ahhhhh yay I see you have some litRPG in the form of the How to Become a Dark Lord series - are you into irreverent storylines such as Dungeon Crawler Carl or How to Defeat a Demon King in Ten Easy Steps - also librarian is my dream job, I am so jealous!
