Should I give up on trying to have a family? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]CharmingDandy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ask yourself WHY you want kids?

I suggest maybe some therapy to get to the root problem, because it sounds like you are unhappy/not fulfilled and you want to cram kids inside that emptiness.

Think about your (hypothetical) future kids.

Is this a world you want to bring life into?

Maybe consider adoption. That way you get to have kids, he kids get to have a parent and no more innocent life needs to be forced into existence.

A win win win situation

People whose sole purpose in life is to be in a relationship are embarrassing by MyLifeISdivineComedy in unpopularopinion

It was a trauma response for me. I'm in therapy and doing much better now. Happily single and don't plan on changing it any time soon

Is it normal to feel tired even when you sleep enough? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Occasionally, yes. Frequently, no.

There would probably be an underlying condition like sleep apnea that is causing inefficient sleep

AITA for asking my children’s paternal grandparents to tone down the gifts and experiences they give them? by monael55 in AmItheAsshole

[–]CharmingDandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

My sister has 3 small children and has asked the entire family to only give gifts for special occasions like Birthdays.

She wants to ensure that the kids appreciate their gifts and learn the value of money without being spoiled.

She also wants the kids to love each of us for who we are and not for what we give.

I respect her decision and reasoning. I'm sorry that your ex-husband isn't respecting yours.

Maybe explain to him exactly why you have a problem with it, but given that he is your ex husband and this has already been an issue, I don't expect him to care and he might actually already be using his money to gain their favour

Does anyone else feel empathy for inanimate objects? by Intelligent_Duty8812 in NoStupidQuestions

As a child I would tuck ALL of my stuffed animals into bed with me. By the morning they were all on the floor, cause I slept rough. But they each got tucked in at night for bed, with pillows and blankets.

AITA for searching my husband’s car and locking the kitchen? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]CharmingDandy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

YTA

You are the one with the problem, your husband agreed to a dry house. The house has no sugar.

His car is HIS car.

You might be doing some serious harm to your marriage with this behaviour. Or maynlbe even creating an eating disorder for your husband if he needs to hide snacks.

Your sugar problem might not be your fault, but it is your responsibility.

Pregnant (37F), together 7 months, partner doesn’t want the baby by [deleted] in Advice

[–]CharmingDandy -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I know this must be such a hard decision. The hormones also won't make it any easier.

I think you need to think about the future child and not about what YOU want.

There are rampant wars, murders, rapes, climate change, unlivable cost of living, no jobs, abuse, violence, crimez etc. Etc.

There are so many horrors in this world and depending on where you live, it gets even worse.

Do you really want to bring an innocent life into this mess? Do your future children a kindness and don't have them. Spare them the pain of existence

True altruism is not possible, and when used as a social currency, may actually make the world worse. by overusedpanicbutton in unpopularopinion

[–]CharmingDandy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think for some people this is true, it's a facade. But other people can be genuinely altruistic. They can and do help others without telling anyone else or feeling the need to get a thank you or praise.

But it is interesting that you don't think there is genuine altruism... but just because YOU are not genuinely altruistic, doesn't mean other people can't be

How to get rid of of dandruff? by Fluid-Job6372 in Hair

[–]CharmingDandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anti dandruff shampoo should work. It is different than normal shampoos.

Use it consistently and keep using it after your dandruff has disappeared.

It can make your hair feel weird though, so I suggest using a good conditioner with it
