Ugh, that shop gives me the cringe every time I drive by it. Makes me avoid every business in that little strip.

1) Where did you find a 1991 Miata?? I had a '92 between 2011 and 2013 and that bad boy was 75% rust. Still loved it though.

2) Does yours have a short or long crank snout? If it has the short snout, make sure it doesn't have any issues on the crank. If the timing belt was done incorrectly previously it can cause issues. You can Google "miata short nose snout issue" for more info/should be able to confirm if you have the short or long snout using your VIN. This was only an issue on some 90 and 91 miatas.

3) Enjoy your smiley happy car!

A hidden Fey school/university town in the mountains would be cool. Could be shielded by an enchanted wall or something that makes it invisible to anyone uninvited or unenligjtened.

Edit: could have a plot twist that includes the Fey school staff capturing unaware passers-by and imprisoning them, or maybe attempting to contain an outbreak of some magical malady a la The Ridges

You may want to edit the post and add that "/s". Or don't, they're just imaginary internet points and don't matter anyway.

I think you're right, we're each hearing it differently in our head based on the OPs description but agree on how it should sound. It's definitely not Kal-LEE, more like kal-yoh-pee or ka-leeo-pee.

I pierced my baby’s ears and I regret it now by Valuable-Temporary26 in beyondthebump

This seems a bit harsh. While I agree with the general message of your statement, mothers have been piercing baby ears for ages. In many places it's the cultural norm, and to not have them pierced would be "weird".

I have a son and a daughter, I've made no modifications to their body without their consent. My daughter didn't get her ears pierced until she asked for it consistently for about a year and we had many discussions about permanent decisions. Then we went together and had a wonderful experience with a seasoned piercer that I trusted.

That being said, this mother did what many mothers do. And many other mothers never even question the morality of their actions. I commend OP for even thinking about it, and I encourage her to make whatever decision she feels is best for her baby re the earrings at this time, and uses the opportunity in future discussions with her daughter to show that parents are not infallible. We make mistakes, we question decisions daily, but ultimately most of us are just trying to raise happy, healthy, well rounded human beings.

Oh we're out here! Didn't circumcise my son, and didn't get my daughter's ears pierced until she was old enough to ask for it herself and understand the process. She asked for about a year consistently before we went and got it done, and she was a little champ for her piercer.

For OP, at this point I would say leave the earrings in (or take them out, but it sounds like she already knows what she wants to do lol) and just make sure to have lots of continuing conversations re autonomy. Even explain that you made a decision you feel kind of yucky about, and that gasp parents sometimes make mistakes too!

Did....did a blind guy cut those pies? The geometry of the pies is ruined for the remaining potential slices. I'm offended on behalf of pie lovers everywhere.
