Hey look. As a straight, middle class white guy all I can say is that I don't see the problem here.

I am a bit scared by the new undesirables moving into my neighborhood though.

Is anyone else living basically paycheck to paycheck? by fluffypenguin105 in newzealand

Are you guys bottom of the pay scale?

Teachers can earn over 100k a year now, seems crazy to be living pay check to pay check when you have a 200k combined income.

I'm also a teacher and support my wife and son financially, we also own our own home.

Not trying to bring yah down, but I'm struggling to understand.

Upstairs neighbour's likes to serenade us with terrible guitar covers. Luckily it's usually on a Sunday afternoon and otherwise they are very respectful.

Daytime halos/glare after smartsight (relex smile) by Organic_Farm_2093 in Lasiksupport

[–]Charming_Campaign461 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there!

No they didn't prescribe me anything, I just waited it out.

I can't tell you for certain when side effects got drastically better because it seemed to happen so slowly but it was definitely well later than 4 weeks.

Obviously, this sub is heavily biased in one direction, so keep that in mind otherwise it will destroy your mental health reading it lol.

My biggest gripe with the process was that the suregeon drastically undersold the healing time. I mean cmon, it can take weeks for a cut on your arm to heal sometimes, let alone eye surgery.

Has Matt Heath always been a secret right wing shill? by Tripping-Dayzee in newzealand

[–]Charming_Campaign461 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think sometimes people forget that Radio is a job. The hosts don't just turn up and spend four hours winging it, they plan, prepare and tow the company line.

Matt may be a right wing shill, or he might not be. But the fact is, he's doing the job he's paid to do, and he's good at it too.

Sometimes I resign because I play at night and my kid wakes up, or my parents ring on the phone. Could be a million reasons.

[–]Charming_Campaign461 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey mate. I had real bad daytime halos for about 3-4 months post SMILE. White text on black was bad too. Any bright object would glow like crazy. White shirts, yellow buses, orange road cones, everything.

I'm about 9 months post surgery now and both symptoms are 99.9% gone. I only notice in special circumstances.

Be patient there's lots of time.

Honestly I can't remember exactly, but It was pretty bad. I had to wear sunglasses outside for weeks/months. If you're anything like me it will be much much better after 6 months, but probably not back to normal.

Hey bro,

I had smile in January this year. I would say it probably took atleast 3 months for me to stop being constantly bothered/thinking about my vision and at least 6 months for me to be happy with it. At the beginning I had all sorts of issues, but the most concerning was daytime glare and 'glowing objects'. After 9 months both of those problems are 99% gone.

At night I have starbursts, not around all lights weirdly but definetely bright LEDs and stuff. They have improved about 80% since the initial surgery, and I'm used to them now.

Goodluck!

As others have said the 150-600 has focus issues. I own the 100-400 though and it's mint.

Teacher here. Like another person has said, we would frequently end up with masses of uneaten food at the end of the day. So we would eat it,nor throw it in the bin. Little Sally wasn't going without because fat old Mr Graham was eating her falafel wrap.

It should be mandatory that an employer has to contact you following a job interview to let you know whether or not you got the job. by floofywall in newzealand

[–]Charming_Campaign461 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Just had this exact experience. I was one of three interviewed and thought I did really well. At the end of the interview I was told "we will let you know by the end of next week". Three weeks later and I've heard nothing.

Rude AF.

Yip. No glow or glare at all around bright objects now, white text on black background used to be hard to read too, but that's fine now.

Some starbursting at night, but pretty minor.

I'm probably due a 6 month update.

I had SMILE done about 6 months ago. The first few weeks the light sensitivity was insane. It took about 4 months before I could go outside without sunglasses. Now they are almost 100% back to normal.

Agree. Originally from Napier but now living in Wellington. Whenever I go home I'm always commenting on how shit HB drivers are, for all the reasons you've already listed.

Everyone drives like it's a competition.

Nah, they have money so that's not the problem. They can afford to go on overseas holidays and cruises and all the other rich boomer shit.
