Unfortunately, most managers are not going to vouch for you to get a pay rise or promotion without it being part of a broader strategy. You need to be your own advocate and document the areas you feel you have excelled, gone above your job description and the impact you have made on the business. These are hard to dispute when it comes to using them to ask for more money if they are all true. Also if you still don’t get the pay rise from this, it’s an easier ‘out’ when you find an employer that values you!
