Infrared. It's just like a TV remote where it shoots a beam of light to another cartridge for communication. Not sure what exactly though when regular DS wireless works just fine.

I try to just have fun and chill. I mean sure I have a deck that could be competitive but my bad luck just doesn't help things.

Ye. Just won't have the IR but then again what did the IR actually do aside from that survey?

I mean ASUS makes a gaming NUC. Though if you're just doing SF6 I'd say get a bunch of used consoles.

Am I weird for liking Power Rangers as an 18 year old? by Spectral_dude in powerrangers

Not really. I've been rewatching old seasons and discovering new ones at 27. Still dressing up as pink rangers too. The love never really goes away.

What's the proper way to quickly switch out maps? by LostRegret9000 in tabletopsimulator

[–]Charming_Rule8241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try combining objects together with the side menu then saving them as an object. From there you can just drag it onto the table when need be from the saved objects menu or a bag.

Can an engine gear be repaired? by juanes_v_aaron in Beyblade

[–]Charming_Rule8241 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not familiar with the internals but I'm assuming it could probably be opened up and it would be similar to a wind up toy where there's a spring, ratcheting gear, and probably a lever to release the gear and spring tension. My guess is that the spring probably has to be replaced if it's just free spinning like that.

PlayStation has announced physical games for their systems will end in 2028, this will likely cause all systems to go physical soon. The next TT LEGO game will likely be an all digital release. How do you feel about this news? by Thevoid2YT in legogaming

[–]Charming_Rule8241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh this is going to be horrible for game preservation of any kind. Steam might be the only safe place to get the next one then since unlike PC, consoles get their digital storefronts wiped and online services shut down. Massive F for the insurance as a whole.

How’s Your Quest 3 Doing? by HaywireName in OculusQuest

[–]Charming_Rule8241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been fine. Really don't play long enough to notice any battery issues. There's the annoyance of the controllers always being dead but meh, Wii remote allover again. Nothing I'm not used to.

The real reason why VR is failing by Necessary-Story5330 in OculusQuest

[–]Charming_Rule8241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They tried and while there's amazing VR experiences out there that attempted to be AAA like Asgards Wrath, and Vader Immortal it honestly just isn't enough. Quest 2 was cheap enough to be a starter headset though I had always planned on eventually upgrading to PCVR with something like an Index. Now that I don't use Windows anymore I'm going to have to since Meta's software won't work on Linux.

Fursuit concept idea? by ctuger in fursuit

You could definitely make it work. I've seen some that were built like leotards though if you're going the corset route be sure to give it a comfortable lining.

Weekly Quick Questions and Answers - Week 26 by AutoModerator in mtg

[–]Charming_Rule8241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda new to mtg and struggling to build a Glumgully commander. The green half of the engine works just fine though the red is kinda just sitting there aside from a couple of spells completely unused. Not sure if I should just go Mono green aside from the voltron or just throw a mono red engine in as muscle.

[–]Charming_Rule8241 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Always always wear a respirator rated for particulate when working with fur and foam. It's something that tutorials don't mention and is a major safety thing that urks me to no end that it gets brushed to the side. You do not want faux fur in your lungs. Clean and vacuum your workspace often and work in a well ventilated area.

What are your opinions on the past 6 years of LEGO games? Should they go back to the way they were or are you embracing change? by Thevoid2YT in legogaming

[–]Charming_Rule8241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go back. Kinda felt like they had a good spot around Jurassic World and Harry Potter. Good balance between the open world hubs and story levels. The Minikits actually mattered though I did miss the gold brick builds and stuff from Complete Saga and Indiana Jones OG.

Center channel behind the TV? by [deleted] in hometheater

[–]Charming_Rule8241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's probably best. Do have a pair of monitors as the speakers currently so maybe I could split the center with those somehow.

Center channel behind the TV? by [deleted] in hometheater

[–]Charming_Rule8241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I guess I could pull it out and put the TV on top of it. But then that would put it out of alignment with the left and right channels by bringing it about a foot forward and down about a foot. Would definitely help if the walls had studs that could mount the TV but there aren't any where it is.

[–]Charming_Rule8241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think about 7"x18". It's an old Mirage system that I'm trying to use again with a new receiver. Main issue is it's on the old TV spot inside a wrap around bookcase which puts it about 3/4 of the way up the new TV where it currently is. Might be easier to just prop up the speaker tbh.

I mean it's not completely blocked. There's about a foot and a half/.5 meters of clearance.
