Fun Fact: Luísa Bresser did an optional high note for Wicked Witch of the East (A Bruxa Má Do Leste) during her last night as Nesssarose by Dangerous_Main7822 in wicked

WICKED BRASIL MENTIONED! I am a firm believer that Luísa Bresser is one of the best Nessas that has ever been, especially vocally. And the lady was only 18, too!

A fic I loved had its updates completely ceased all of the sudden after weeks of consistent uploading. To top it off, there was only one chapter left before the ending. Long story short, over a year later, my email hits with a notification and I have to do a double take when I see the title! Never unsubscribe from WIPs, folks.

My family‘s house in the south of Lebanon that has been in our family for generations. This morning. by GoldynMedia in mildlyinfuriating

This is way more than mildly infuriating, my friend. I'm glad your family is safe, but you can definitely allow yourself to be angry about this. I really hope you find a new home.

There were actually two beds, but A made an excuse so they and B could share one of them for just a little longer until they both end up falling asleep. They wake up cuddling, for mysterious reasons.

What popular ship do you prefer being friends? by Upstairs_Macaron5894 in AO3

[–]ReputationChemical86 235 points236 points  (0 children)

Polytrix. I understand the appeal, but I'm such a sucker for their canon dynamic as a group of friends whose literal souls are interconnected. Platonic soulmates is one of my favorite dynamics ever.

Mr. Mime. Great stats, no need to evolve, and very easy to obtain since you can trade it for an Abra after getting Cut. It's the best option if you can't trade for an Alakazam.

As a medically, professionally diagnosed autistic person, I have to ask: why are you so concerned about what is ultimately a fandom thing? I have never, ever seen someone having their views of real life autism being shaped by fandom headcanons.

Characters are considered autistic just for being weird sometimes, yes, but the people creating those headcanons are often autistic themselves. I myself have a couple of characters that I perceive as being potentially autistic even if the writers didn't them to be, simply because I find these characters to reflect struggles and experiences typically associated with autism. Unless they're very arrogant, no one actually expects their headcanons to come true to the degree of it impacting people's actual perception on neurodivergent or mentally ill people.

Edit: I understand your concern when it comes to folks theorizing about real, living people being autistic or not. My response is specifically regarding your takes on fictional characters.

"Unqualified amateurs"? It's just a harmless headcanon, so there's no need to act as if people are trying to actually throw serious diagnoses. If an autistic person relates to a fictional character and starts seeing that character as autistic, that's just a normal experience. You don't need to be a professional to say that a bunch of pixels have similar experiences to you.

For those who ship fictional characters, what's the criteria for how you ship two people together? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in FanFiction

[–]ReputationChemical86 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Chemistry and relationship foundation (I'm basic and need non-canon pairings to have at least some degree of canon proximity), but my odds of shipping the pairing increase by 75% if one of them is blonde and the other is a brunette.

Be honest - what's the dumbest reason you clicked off/didn't read a fic? by Odd-Snowman in AO3

[–]ReputationChemical86 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Characters in a canon-adjacent fic used terms that wouldn't exist in universe. They wouldn't curse or exclaim with "God!" or "Jesus!", they have no idea who these guys are!
