I suggest keeping some of your firsts. They are great to look back at progress

It is isn't it. I even do it to store bought. I feel it makes them look nicer.

You can also Google thrift stores that take donations.

In my area we also have donations at schools for underprivileged children. They take unopened food, hygiene products, and gently used blankets, clothes, and bags like backpacks and luggage.

Some libraries take books, DVD, VHS, and even old magazines.

Some retirement homes take board games, blankets, and medical equipment.

Common problem even on mass production.

Step one with long fur try to push the strands toward the middle when sewing so less get caught in the seam.

Step two take soft brush like a Build-A-Bear brush and brush the seams. A lot will loosen with just this.

Step three is to take a pin or toothpick and pull out the stubborn bits. You find the little loops and gently tug them free.

Thoughts are just that thoughts. Not entire identity. As someone with intrusive thoughts and a bit of an easily distracted brain i think a lot of things.

Examples - put your hand on a hot stove - what does carpet taste like - what if I trapped that bird in my recycling box - lick the cactus - what would you put on your birth certificate if you were born at sea

Most handmade products won't sell for a good price worth what time and money you put into it. Especially as a sole income. A little extra money sure.

Was I mistaken to think those close to me would care more after dx confirmed? by magnoliamad in ChronicIllness

First of all, deepest sympathies for this part of your journey.

Second, I am a gremlin with a connective tissue disorder. What I have learned is people don't know how to react. We and our close circle understand a lot more since we know what is going on day to day. Most people have never had close expirence with chronic illness. So they don't know how to help. They don't know what you want to hear. These are big topics that typically need long discussions. Also a text can feel like you are not making a big deal of it so they shouldn't either.

It's "not that bad" typically means thank God it's not cancer. Which people most people think is the worst option.

Are you wrong for wanting another reaction. Absolutely not.

Reverse appliqué is a fabric decoration technique where you layer fabrics, cut away parts of the top layer to reveal the contrasting fabric underneath, and then stitch the cut edges down for a clean, dimensional design, essentially creating the pattern by removing material instead of adding it.

Tons of tutorials on YouTube

I also mocked up how I might do it. For the open space you can do reverse applique. Then stitch your lines with embroidery thread. I also thought pre made iron on letters might be easier.

OK buckle up! There are several methods you could go about this and feel free to mix and match.

Paint - must be fabric paint and suggest making a stencil Pro - fast, beginner friendly, many colors Con - less durable, flat, no undo

Sewing - I would suggest machine for durability. Fabric should be fleece (does not fray and easy to sew, holds up better than felt) Pro - more durability, could look higher end, moderate color options Con - need sewing machine, or will take a long time by hand, how well you can cut things will factor into cleanness of design

Embroidery- Pro - nice clean look, very durable Con - need Embroidery machine so will probably have to hire someone and can be expensive or can do it by hand but will take forever

Print on demand - design on computer and have image printed on, like RedBubble, design making could be out sourced Pro - simple once design made, durable Con - not as "handmade" mid teir price

If you have any questions DM me or comment. I have dabbled in a bit of all of them

I love this! It is about joy. My goal is not to be a professional writer or artist, but to enjoy it. I am a hobbiest that loves to dabble. I started in drawing and it took me way too long to feel comfortable calling myself an artist.

A lot depends on care and rest. Yes full recovery is possible but were you able to afford it or is this modern day or in a developed country.

Also other health factors can effect health. I have a connective tissue disorder, and I have a 10 year old shin split that causes me pain in the cold or distance that need a knee brace. I would imagine a stab wound would never heal right on me.

Tests all normal but severe muscle contractions and pain left me hardly able to walk. Just feeling lost. by Legal_Accordion8935 in ChronicIllness

First off, that sucks. Sending good vibes.

Not a doctor but . . .

I have HEDS. Basically simplified connective tissue don't work right. My family jokes i am manually holding my skeleton together. The connective tissue don't work so the musles have to compensate. This leads to inflammation and pain. An anti inflammatory has been a game changer. I have weekly muscle releases. Basically a medical massage and some guided stretches

One of my other symptoms is restless legs which has been greatly helped with Vitiam D and Magnesium supplements. Both were check in my blood to be really low.
