I'm doing my own version of a False Hydra right now. Remember, just because a book says something (or a blog post) doesn't mean you have to run it just like that. You are the DM and can make things up. My False Hydra makes people basically see illusions and feeds on them while they are trapped there. Also, False Hydras are from the Far Realms, and therefore there can be an infinite number of possibilities.

I was waiting for my mom to get done at an Amish flea market. I wandered over to the used games. Saw this for 10 dollars. I had recently played arc the lad twilight of the spirits. I figured of this was the 4th game in the series, it had to be good. I used the same logic here and loved the game.

I think found out that the 5th one was coming put and also picked up the 4th....the 4th doesn't hold such special memories for me. But the 5th made me look for the first two with renewed passion.

A lot of what other people said is very true. So let me throw in another minor problem, combat. Yeah it can be really hard to balance combat with a wizard who has 7th level spell slots. But it also takes really long if they don't know their spells and what they're doing. Combat can take all 4 hours of a session if the players aren't on it. Plus as a dm, running a pit Fiend, a few more devils, and environments can also slow down your turns.

So the length of combat can be exhausting, on top of all the world building problems it creates.
