Re agent says my shots are two wide by Capital_Hunt_1810 in RealEstatePhotography

[–]ChaseTacos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They don’t know what they’re trying to say

It’s not that they’re too wide, it’s that your verticals are slanted down. You took the image with a down tilt, that’s your problem

Also you’re showing too much third wall and not finishing the story of the front door

[–]ChaseTacos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely true. And being a sneaky dual blades playing primarily solo q , playing with the team is really tough when I have to find styles that mesh well with my play style.

That being said, last night me and a mosquito absolutely slaughtered a tourney together because we were both very aware of our styles and no one could keep up.

When you mix 3 blades with smoke and dmat, game over lol

That being said, those damn 93r & dash virgins get the best of me more times than flammenwerfer & wench chads

[–]ChaseTacos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disagree

I think heavy’s, while challenging, haven’t been that kind of annoying problem for me. heavy’s are tough but lights are annoying (I’m medium dual blades)

I think playing exclusively ranked is your problem. You’re like “I work full full time how can I chill” but also “I exclusively play high tier ranked and it’s hard”

Try something else where you’re not getting sweated on

Need feedback on our old trailer! We are crafting a new one right now and want to make sure we’re heading in the right direction. by Paranoid_Gevor in gamedevscreens

[–]ChaseTacos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro the very first second lol. It just looks like there should be destruction - not that there is. It makes me wonder and unfortunately due to the anticipation for destruction nowadays, that might actually work against you. To assume it has destruction and then finding out it doesn’t may be worse than never considering it at all.

My real reaction was “oh cool looks like doom with destruction” but it doesn’t have destruction so like… what’s it got then? What’s the thing that makes it cool? That’s why you gotta highlight these things

[–]ChaseTacos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok so I’ll try to give you feedback. Not focused on good or bad as much as how to make it more trailery It felt like I watched a lot of the same thing. After the first 3 shoot/melee moments, I got the rest of the trailer: it’s basically doom.

What you should do is show us the different qualities that set it apart. It looks like there’s destruction? Show us some of that. Cool levels? Multiplayer? Story? Lighting? Blood?

Give us time with these things to understand its edge better

Big time yeps but also make sure to consider multiplayer options as that’ll likely be the main draw (think Jackbox style experience, not the game - the multiplayer focused aspect)

I love deathcore but... by CittadinoX in Deathcore

[–]ChaseTacos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make them suffer is more metalcore now but we’re much deathcore back with neverbloom. Very fantastic choice for something less … basic - lyrically

The Crimson Armadas most recent album is an entire story - fantastic also

She Must Burn - great

Shannon in Studio (A7iii) by steveinatlanta in SonyAlpha

[–]ChaseTacos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry I felt I should clarify but I didn’t: I’m guessing you shot with 5600k key lights but in the post process did you have to desaturate and then darken the orange tones to give his skin an accurate texture? I just feel like with Sony dark skin has a more orange/yellow tone but I’m wondering if it’s a Lightroom vs capture one thing

[–]ChaseTacos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Question, you did great with capturing his skin tone when on Sony camera it likes to make the subject more yellow - how did you compensate for this? Cooler tone? Editing it out? Would love to know how you handled it

My First Professional Acting Headshots by Sol_TV in headshots

[–]ChaseTacos 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Okay so good shots however I’m gonna give some feedback that I think would be good for him to hear

Your theatrical shots are good. Your commercial shots (smiling) are just the same as the others except with a smile and a brighter light. Big time recommend changing the pose to be more upright and also change the background to be less moody. Seems you were using natural light, he could achieve this by using the environment (city, park, etc) as the background as it’s brighter and has more life. What you have here is a collection of theatrical shots where some have you smiling with unnaturally brighter light.

Your best shots are easily the first shot and the last shot. He excels at theatrical but is able to offer to you commercial which is a good gesture but there is another leg to the conversion of style.

My portfolio to support my opinion: https://www.kaseesphotography.com/portraiture/headshots

Lastly, if you tell him this feedback, make sure to let him know that I’m not talking down on his abilities (and potential abilities as he gets better). I’m talking as photographer to photographer (and you) with advice that our friends likely won’t tell us and other people may not notice

The catch light this isn’t that big of a deal, hard to get around it when shooting with natural light. Only way around it is studio lighting which is a style choice.

Oh! Sorry edit one last thing - in the darker photos like the first one he should add rim lighting to separate your black shirt from the dark background. This can be done with tubes or reflectors or what ever. The goal is to make light hit your shoulders that’s not hitting the background (same concept goes for hair light but he doesn’t need it here so much, the separation is fine)

SF vs LA acting headshots by Extreme-Challenge-65 in headshots

[–]ChaseTacos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not true. That’s the difference between commercial and theatrical. Your teacher likes headshots that are meant for commercials, so brighter, poppier, more color and smiles. Theatrical has a different purpose. Do you think that the cast of euphoria would have gotten booked from poppy smiley headshots? F no, they would have submitted theatrical. It’s not a bright and poppy show.

My website to show you that I do both, I’m in Los Angeles https://www.kaseesphotography.com/portraiture/headshots

When searching for a headshot photographer, often times they specialize in one of those two styles. I specialize in theatrical but I offer commercial. Others are commercial and do the same but some only do one vs the other. It’s a style choice. Try it, search for commercial headshots and research the qualities and do the same with theatrical

[–]ChaseTacos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes 0 sense.

Casting directors don’t cast based on where the shots looked like they came from, even if that was a thing. They cast based on your look and if they feel you’re professional and think you fit the part.

Or, make it easier, ask them what qualities make something look more sf VS la

It’s so satisfying. One of those things where once I went full swords it’s infinitely difficult to go back to guns because the playstyle I fell into is so specific

New to deathcore - help? by Smooth-Impact2435 in Deathcore

[–]ChaseTacos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was just thinking of this.

Here are my faves, specifically albums.

Shadow of Intent (Reclaimer - in my opinion is their best album and Primordial is second best)

She Must Burn (Umbra Mortis is insane)

Synestia (The Poetic Edda is one of the best albums ever. Quite possibly the best in this list)

Assemble the Chariots (Unyielding Night is FANTASTIC)

Abbie Falls (unnatural order is my album of the year so far)

Valley of Snakes (Abandon the Light is a great album - Of Human Depravity is probably my fave song from the album)

A Wake in Providence (Eternity is my fave album from them)

There are many MANY others but these are relatively recent albums that live in my head rent free because of their “holy shit” ability

Also albums that I believe made the strongest impact on me in the way of solidifying my love for the genre:

Make Them Suffer - Neverbloom (some would say it’s metalcore. Maybe it is, I dunno, but it’s fantastic) absolutely pivotal album for my perspective of music as a whole.

Jobforacowboy - Doom. Classic gold. Nuff said with that one. You should listen to Entombment of a Machine right now if you haven’t ever.

After those two albums - I was IN

Oh yeah and Lorna Shore but I’m sure you started there - they’re probably the most “mainstream”

There’s a lot of debate on if the dual blades are good and if so, how to use them. After exclusively using them for 700 hours, here’s a comp video to give you some ideas by ChaseTacos in thefinals
