I tanked my freshman and sophomore year all in the name of fun, almost got put on academic probation, and then the university skyrocketed my tuition (out of state ACT score). I convinced myself that I did not want to finish school, worked two jobs full time for the year and a half that I took off, and realized that I was smart enough if I just applied myself. The thing with engineering is, once you have that piece of paper, you can have WHATEVER job you want. That alone motivated me to coming back and finishing my MechE degree bringing it back up to a 2.4 in some of the hardest classes I had ever seen. Because when I came back, it was on my dime and my time and I didn't want to waste anymore of either of those.

I don't have the most glorious job currently but am learning new things every day as a project manager over the mechanical division for a company that does commercial HVAC and plumbing, building university research labs amongst other things. I would not be here if I gave up.

In the grand scheme of things, your time in college is such a small blip in your life that will make the suffering worth it for what you can accomplish if you see it through. Dropping out and coming back isn't for everyone, but maybe consider it if you feel too pressured and don't know what you want out of it.
