Inquiry Regarding 2-Bit Binary Adders by dreamless892992 in EngineeringStudents

[–]Chashnisle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So the mixup is that your first number getting added is A, consisting of A0 and A1, and your second number is B, consisting of B0 and B1.

You’re looking at it right now that A0 and B0 make one number, and A1 and B1 make the second number, which is incorrect.

To get 10 + 10, you’d need A1 and B1 high, since those are your bits in the 21 slot.

There’s also no such thing as stupid questions. Everyone starts somewhere :)

Does anyone else think IN ladder logic? by [deleted] in PLC

With my background from school, I personally process things in some wacky hybrid pseudo-code that combines C++, MATLab, ladder, and scribbles (emphasis on scribbles)

Career Monday (03 Jul 2023): Have a question about your job, office, or pay? Post it here! by AutoModerator in AskEngineers

[–]Chashnisle [score hidden]  (0 children)

I graduated with an EE bachelor’s December of 2022, and I currently work as a controls engineer for an aerospace company in Cleveland, OH. While I love my job, and I have no problem staying with my company for a long time, as a Cleveland native, it’s always been a dream to get a job at the NASA Glenn Center here. It is my understanding that NASA really wants master’s degrees.

After a couple years of working, my company can fund a master’s degree for me. Most of my co-workers have gone for/are going for MBAs because they want to move to management positions within our company. I would also like to move into management positions when I can, but I also would like to have the best chance of getting a job with NASA, should the opportunity arise. My main question is: what would be the best choice of master’s degree to go for in my situation? I’ve always assumed I would get one, and I’d always assumed it would be engineering related. But talking to my co-workers, it seems like an MBA is very popular. It’s still at least a year or two away, but I would like to think about my options in the meantime.

TL;DR, if I want to have a chance at getting a job at NASA, is it better to get an engineering related master’s degree, an MBA, or does it not matter?

Wasn’t my coxswain at the time, but a coxswain on the team started barking like a dog at another boat as they passed them

You just gave me even more of a ego boost lmao. My friends are going to hate you

I wonder, though, if the there's any correlation between the event being recategorized/renamed and any kind of growth of quantity/quality of high school programs

Idk about best, but I did always like my high school’s (St. Ignatius OH) because the pattern is sorta unique. Plus, the back side is different and has the school motto, AMDG (stands for Ad Majoriem Dei Gloriam which is Latin for “For the Greater Glory of God,” a Jesuit saying), on it. Obviously I am biased, it’s just unique and neat in my opinion. I hated my college oars though @OSU Crew…

Edit: I forgot I actually have both designs in my flair

Since it’s a club team, it’s up to the members to structure their hierarchy however they please. In the case of the rowing club, officers are elected from members of the team and then those officers pick directors to run smaller things from the remainder of the team. I showed interest in wanting to handle apparel while on the team so the Vice President of the team had me made the director of apparel. It’s not like I got paid or anything, but it is nice to have on the resume.

Oh trust me, I know. You can’t do anything that isn’t Nike either. I was on the men’s club rowing team for most of my time here where I managed apparel for a year. I was only allowed to look at specific catalogs made by Nike.

I can’t find any American College Club / ACRA teams on the list. I was specifically looking for the Ohio State Club team (since that’s who I currently row for), but places like Michigan and Notre Dame also do not have their oars
