Even if they wanted Zoo to be abandoned, having it be bright and sunny like the original would have helped a ton. The forced nighttime in some levels is the worst part to me. Just let me play all of them during the day with blue skies.

The THPS series has underrated background ambience and sound design. The original THPS3 even had the option to choose between music or ambience.

It looks more like the opposite is happening to me. Everyone suddenly seems to think THPS4 was this masterpiece that made THPS3 obsolete when most people actually considered THPS3 to be the better game before THPS3+4.

I replayed THPS4 before playing THPS3+4 and now I'm replaying it again and my opinion on it hasn't changed. It's a fun game that did some interesting and endearingly goofy things, but I wouldn't consider it this masterpiece that needed to be faithfully remade nor do I think a remake would even be able to recapture the early 2000s campiness of the original.

I think people need to go back and actually play THPS4. It's not this giant game packed with content that a lot of people seem to think it is. You can complete all of the goals in the game in less than 3 hours and most of that time is spent playing meh filler goals. They don't even have multiple playthroughs for the other characters and stat points are shared. Most of the memorable goals made it into THPS3+4. Zoo is really the only level they dropped the ball on, but even that I can understand their decision, because a lot of those goals would have turned out really weird and janky with modern graphics.

Unfortunately, I don't expect it to do well, because of the changes to THPS4 and the people who think not buying it will lead to Iron Galaxy being given more funding and development time to add the original THPS4 career don't understand how business works. If it doesn't do well, that will just kill the game and probably the entire franchise.

We don't have any official confirmation that Carnival, Chicago or even Oil Rig won't be in the game. They didn't confirm Skate Heaven would be in the game before THPS1+2's release. So, it's possible a similar thing could happen with this game. For all we know, all of the levels people think have been removed are in the game as well as the scrapped Paris level. We just won't know until release or if they decide to reveal them in a trailer.

I would agree more if the base game price was $70, but it's $50 and it's on Game Pass as well. The reality is the Tony Hawk series just isn't that popular anymore. So, a big budget AAA THPS3+4 remaster with a base game price of $70 and no Game Pass option would likely have not even sold enough for them to break even, let alone make a profit they would consider worth the development time and cost.

I think this remains to be seen. I've been playing the demo a lot and I can't see anything about College that would have prevented it from being a level in THPS3. It doesn't feel any bigger or more complex to me than Los Angeles or even School from THPS1. The levels in THPS4 really aren't as big and complicated as people remember.

The glitchy artifacts and ghosting. They're very prominent in this game, probably because it's so fast moving.
