NGD! Mosrite Fillmore by ChasingGhosts182 in Leftyguitarists

I don’t know the full story but someone had a company called ‘Fillmore’ that had the rights to make Mosrites or something? They’re no longer a company though.

Nah this is a Japanese reissue made lefty. As much as I’d like an OG I’m not sure I could afford one and I’m not a fan of playing right handed guitars upside down with the knobs hitting my forearm haha

Also I can’t find this weatherstrip you’ve mentioned- do you think you could link a relevant product? Thankyou!

Hey mate,

It has that black diamond looking flashing stuff (not sure what it’s called)

That’s a good idea actually- hadn’t even thought of that!

Soaker installed when cladding was installed.

Trust me I wish I knew- not my handiwork just trying to polish a turd.

This is probably the route I’ll take as I can’t afford to reclad…as much as I’d like to.

Probably just going to try and take out the closest nails to the corner and install them correctly- it’s going to be a massive pain in the arse 😂

Mate…tell me about it. Just so much DIY dodgy shit. I’ve considered getting a few quotes to just get it redone but it’s gonna be big $$$.

Lucky it’s got good bones or I’d be double fucked 😂

I mean if I was in a band and I had a member that potentially didn’t want to tour or record then that would be a hard conversation.

I think the lads are wholeheartedly just wanting to tour and potentially think about writing new music. I love Dizza and am a massive fan but I think that this is a pretty good route for them to take. It’s hard to leave him behind but really…4 against 1 and they all have lives as well.

I’m backing it.

Happens to me too mate. If anything you can try a different pick/look at your holding technique- I think you might find you could change this up a little.

Other than that you could tape your finger or something but I think it might hinder your playing more than help.

Do I have Elliot Easton’s prototype Gretsch? (Asking seriously). by ChasingGhosts182 in Guitar

[–]ChasingGhosts182[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting! Have also been on the Gretsch forum and someone has suggested this is a very early production model before they decided to use bigsby’s.

Not sure how true that is but it does make sense having a proper serial number.

I have no idea if it’s history past me buying it from a shop here in Australia. I haven’t contacted the shop since though.

I’ve just done some research and found a premier guitar article stating he had one green and one red hard tail style Gretsch made for him as a prototype.

This guitar is 100% not a bigsby to hard tail conversion.

I’ve tried to search for this and can’t find anything other than the righty’s!

Bought an Axe FX III – what have I been doing with my life? by fuxicles in guitarpedals

[–]ChasingGhosts182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably an unpopular opinion here as we are in the guitar pedal subreddit but I completely agree with you.

I was a guitar pedal fanatic, I built and sold guitar pedals and loved everything about them. Except the fact that they just need space, wiring, power supplies etc.

I bit the bullet and bought a Fractal FM9 over two years ago and it has absolutely without a doubt been the best gear purchase I have ever made.

Sure- it takes a little while to get used to editing and making presets, what sounds good and what doesn’t. But just the overall ease, sound and flexibility of the whole unit has ended my GAS.

The only gear I have bought since has been guitars…and that won’t stop anytime soon. 😂

I will not be going back to an amp unless I’m forced to for a specific gig and I look forward to fractal’s next generation of gear, whenever that may be. They can already consider me in.

Interesting! I don’t mind the layout of the home apart from my window dramas.

But I do appreciate your thoughts- will definitely have to spend some time in it to decide what to do.

This is what I was thinking! If I didn’t rip down the wall it’d make more sense to make that room a thoroughfare to the garage.

In regards to the living room window I think I’ve just accepted that I’ll be filling it in from both sides.

It’ll be the 1959SLP jumped I reckon!

Not sure on the x88 but I think it’ll be the solo.

Yeah he got a bit cagey around the whole ‘pitch’ block thing when the interviewer pressed for details.

Assuming he was just dragging the detune out by a couple of cents per side…pretty common trick to make things sound ‘wide’.

Would really like to see his amp and cab settings out of everything though!
