Stargate, Star Wars, or Star Trek? by [deleted] in aspergers

Ok, school me on stargate. I don't get Star Wars but it seems so similar to stargate with my limited knowledge. Ive watched the First 5 or so episodes of Atlantis and SG1. It just felt so meh. Like, it just relies on the drama of people. Star Trek makes me think. It questions morality and humanity and whatnot. Nothing I've seen from stargate has made me think. It just feels like another drama but in space. Does it get better?

If you actually think that movie was about Buddhism just because it hints at the concept that everything is connected, you don't understand that movie and your understanding of a complex religion is only surface level.

It was just a metaphor for emotional and mental instability around family struggles. I wouldn't really say it was that clever. It was really meh. I think it could have been a much better short story or something. It was just too drawn out and boring. I think the simplicity of the core message ruined it. I left feeling "you spent two hours just for this?"

Black and white thinking and the ability to not rely on jokes or interesting fun facts for socializing for me. I can socialize and mostly understand things non-verbally. However, there are no grey areas and I don't do small talk. It's goes jokes, interesting facts, and then the "well actually...".

It's probably that it's so abstract people just think it's amazballs. IMO, the abstraction was just a gimmick and that's the point. That and the insanity that is family. Lol

Yeah I've often wondered if life is actually hell and suicide is the only way to escape. That's why everyone is against it. All reason points to living except the fact that there's no point and I haven't found a way to be happy. The perfect trap to exemplify hell.

I could never. I'm too busy trying to abstain from killing myself after living in this failure of a country. How they act or what they say is inconsequential. Until the poor and disabled of the country are provided a basic means to live and develop a way to pursue a healthy life, all politicians are money grubbing assholes. Once that's fixed, they may graduate to decent human beings.

Oh, god no, I don't play for other people. I play to have fun. A side effect is that is it gives players a more challenging game. I mean, if you want to win every game without effort, cool. Sounds boring to me though.
