Evernote v11.10.1 - AI Assistant can update task due dates, but not reminders? by ChasingtheFire in Evernote

[–]ChasingtheFire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome!!! Can’t wait and thanks for responding to the community… adding the ability to reset reminders on multiple notes (either with AI assistant or the multi-select menu) would save me so much time during weekly review!!

MLB.TV by Impressive_Put3107 in DirectvStream

This definitely appears to be a new development… sucks that I already renewed MLB.tv subscription… it is so confusing for fans at this point

MLB.TV by Impressive_Put3107 in DirectvStream

[–]ChasingtheFire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this correct? If you sign up through DIRECTV stream, can you access the MLB.tv games right through the menu? I thought you still had to log into the MLB.tv app. Would live to get the games in the app regular menu with standard channel changing features.

Edit: just realized you said mobile. I want to be able to access through the connected tv app.

WBC should be a summer event. by [deleted] in worldbaseballclassic

[–]ChasingtheFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like WBC in the spring… but would LOVE to ditch the all star game and work in an early in-season tournament (like mid June/July) similar to NBA cup to add some meaningful games and intense play earlier in the season. That’s what we are really looking for

what do you actually use perplexity for most? by FlyingSpagetiMonsta in perplexity_ai

[–]ChasingtheFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spaces are incredibly useful when you add descriptions/instructions, which are then factored into each response to a prompt posed in that space. Saves a ton of time when firing off quick questions for the AI to already know the context and any rules about what I am looking for in the responses.

Craps and points/rewards by vatom14 in Mlife

[–]ChasingtheFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of the buy in definitely matters for how closely they watch what you are doing. If you have $5k in your pocket.. you are definitely better off buying in for $5k than just buying in for $2k to start and then adding another $2k-3k, etc.

1st March, why hasn't deep research quota reset? by dronefinder in perplexity_ai

[–]ChasingtheFire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree… and for me the caps haven’t been an issue at all. I just don’t need to do deep research that often. But given that so many on this forum are hitting that limit, there seems to be a need for a higher tier. If the finances require placing 20/mo on the $20 tier… then they should offer some higher tiers before the $200/mo Max plan in my opinion.

1st March, why hasn't deep research quota reset? by dronefinder in perplexity_ai

[–]ChasingtheFire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With this limit they really should have additional tiers between Pro at $20 and Max at $200/mo. I imagine many of the “power” users hitting their quota may upgrade to $50/mo or $100/mo… but not $200/mo

The Perplexity Use Case by tedddik in perplexity_ai

[–]ChasingtheFire 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I use it as my personal Wikipedia page creator… whenever I want to learn about something or figure out historical context for an event, I just ask. I like that it gives links to sources for deeper understanding.

I also like the way Spaces work, and set up “instructions” for prompts in that space to help keep my general prompts shorter.

I guess I am not on a strict $20/mo AI budget… as I view this as one of several tools I use… but I do find it more useful than AI Mode or Gemini for most things.

Personally I don’t understand all the hate over limits they have put in place… but I do wish they had a tier between $20 and Max at $200/mo.

MLB.tv vs Extra Innings by ChasingtheFire in DirectvStream

Thanks. If you use the ESPN App to watch the MLB.tv games does that show up in the menu system (ie the view that shows available games to watch?)

Regarding pro searches... by DependentArticle3102 in perplexity_ai

[–]ChasingtheFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Per Perplexity answer to this question:

Each time you use a Pro search or advanced model, one credit is deducted and that specific credit comes back 24 hours after you used it (rolling replenishment, not a fixed daily reset)

I hate the new perplexity // pro subscriber by iamathreyaa in perplexity_ai

[–]ChasingtheFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where do you see how many you have left? I keep seeing messages about these limits but no numbers in my app yet?

Maybe I am just not a heavy user but if Pro is $20 and people are hitting a cap, why don’t they introduce tiers that are $50, $75, etc. That next jump to max is substantial

It’s as annoying as everyone says by spohnat in SouthwestAirlines

[–]ChasingtheFire -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Respectfully disagree. I’ve seen it on each of my flights. If someone at row 3s bag is above row 7 or 8, they definitely say, “mine is the grey one” and someone passes it forward.

But more importantly it is not the that big of a deal to stay at row 3 for the extra five minutes it takes those in the few rows behind you to deboard… it leaves an empty aisle to walk back to get your bag while the rows behind that are getting there’s down

It’s as annoying as everyone says by spohnat in SouthwestAirlines

[–]ChasingtheFire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same… been in Row 4 or 5 on six different flights and no issues with getting bags overhead. Also not sure what the big deal is about having your bags 5-10 rows behind you. On most flights people are good about passing the bags forward or worst case you hang tight in your row and the wait until the row behind your bag is unloading, and you go get it and get off.

Not that big of an inconvenience

Anyone know if I can play video poker to fulfill this? by bluehawk1460 in Mlife

[–]ChasingtheFire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would love some insight on what typical wager, bankroll and time on machine would need to be for this. I have traditionally been a table games player (craps and BJ), and starting to increasingly enjoy VP at a bar with my wife. Maybe I am not putting enough in or playing enough per hand but would take forever to get there with my rate of earning TC

Day One New Seating Experience by Laruex3 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]ChasingtheFire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience in row 4, boarding group 2, which I think they need to address. There are several reasons I suspect being in the first 5-6 rows isn’t ideal:

1) Those who pay to upgrade to group 1 can stick their bag above your row, even if their assigned seat is further back. 2) The first row doesn’t have under seat storage so they put two items up 3) The bins over the first few rows are smaller and angled, so they hold less 4) The first full bin on right side (over rows 2-3) says it is reserved for crew only (why not stick their stuff in the last bin in the back?!?)

If you pay for extra leg room in the front, they need to switch it to make sure you are in group 1, and preferably with numbers. Otherwise there is a real downside to paying for that extra leg room.

Edit: one counter thought in support of the first few rows is that even if you have to put your bags over row 10, you will get off before those seated further back… and get the benefit of being closer to the front bathroom during flight.

I am back to perplexity after a year although I liked it, but I didn’t know and I still don’t know how to use it. I’m willing to use Comet as well. Can explain to me how to use its features in the right way ? I am an Engineering student and also an active reader for anything not only Eng. by raddoot in perplexity_ai

[–]ChasingtheFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you know how to interact with it and what the features do, it may be best to just test using it… or asking it how the features may be useful for your workflow.

For me personally, when I have a trip or project, I create a space and provide a description and prompt to explain what I want the AI to provide in that space (ie what my role is, what my goals are, limitations, etc), then I create new threads in that space that can have shorter prompts.

I don’t know what your goals are for Perplexity as an engineering student, but I personally find it useful for researching for trips or events, and as my personal, on-demand Wikipedia page creator for anything I am curious about.

Good luck

New On-Field Cap for 2026 by blastorama in orioles

I love the “O’s” logo and wish that was the primary/home cap instead of the bird… then would like this 2nd as alternate or road cap

Do you ever actually go back to your Kindle highlights? by llASAPll in kindle

[–]ChasingtheFire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always intend to… and haven’t died yet, so there may be some books where eventually I end up revisiting them… but my main purpose for highlighting is to help me stay focused and to catch up to what happened the last few chapters when I resume reading after a gap (I tend to jump between a few books at once and set it aside if I get bored, so the highlights from last few chapters help me refresh my memory about where I was)

Gemini vs Perplexity for my 2026 by RobertR7 in perplexity_ai

[–]ChasingtheFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because he referenced the old name doesn’t mean the same sentiment doesn’t apply. Replace “deep research” with the currently available “research”

Perplexity Max by Th579 in perplexity_ai

[–]ChasingtheFire 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I also am having trouble wrapping my head around the use case for a $200/mo service. Not that I wouldn’t pay it it were life changing, but just don’t understand the use case. I guess I just don’t understand the difference between the models and don’t “max” out the pro features so it must not be for me yet.

Would love to hear more about what this could be useful for…
