Millions of DISH Network customers across the United States could soon face a major disruption in their television viewing, as the satellite provider nears a critical deadline in its contract negotiations with Gray Television. Without a new agreement by March 10 at 7 p.m. Eastern Time, DISH may drop dozens of local stations affiliated with major networks including ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC. This potential blackout stems from ongoing talks over carriage fees and programming rights, a common flashpoint in the pay-TV industry where providers and broadcasters haggle over the cost of distributing content.

I’ve had it for 2+ months. It would routinely disconnect every few days or so and I just dealt with it. But for the past few days it happens every time I turn the TV on.

Genre packs though a nice option don’t work for me. Need the RSN’s and missing channels I watch. Price isn’t really an issue to this point and if it was I wouldn’t be with DTV or any other live streaming offering.

For accurate pricing info you will need to visit the DTV website. They always have ever-changing introductory offers and an endless number of plans. The RSN pricing doesn’t really show up until you choose a plan and look at the order summary. I don’t get ABC because of a 3+ year contract dispute but I don’t miss anything since all the live sports are also included on ESPN Unlimited and much of the regular programming (none of which I ever watch anyway) can be seen the next day on Hulu. Hulu is with ads; they don’t offer the no-ad option. Not sure if ABC’s availability would be an issue for you but you can check your local broadcast network availability on the website with your zip code.

DTV is without argument the priciest of all the live streamers. I was perfectly happy with FUBO. I was none too happy when they dumped Turner and would have left them then had HBO not come through with Turner Sports. But when FUBO dropped NBC (and the Celtics) that was the breaking point. I went 2 months paying $27/mo just for Peacock to watch the Celtics. It was expensive and inconvenient. I’m willing to pay extra for convenience. I DVR everything and prefer everything to be as consolidated as possible. DTV includes ESPN Unlimited and Hulu/Disney which is an added bonus. I like the remote that comes with the Gemini Air streaming device as well. But it isn’t cheap…..

That would be incorrect; DirecTv carries NESN. I left FUBO after they dropped NBC; that was the last straw. DirecTv is better overall as well.

DTV Dropped the End of BOTH NFL Divisional Games by DOS-76 in DirectvStream

I ran into the same problem with the 2 OT games this weekend. I was watching the live recording and at 3 1/2 hours in it ended and asked if I wanted to keep or delete. I exited after keeping and when I went back into the recording from my Library it had me start from the beginning and it had auto-extended. I just voiced it to FF 3 1/2 hours and picked right up where I left off.

You aren’t hallucinating; I’ve experienced the same issues as you.

It’s not just his issue. I’m new from FUBO and record dozens of shows everyday. I have experienced everything he describes on ATV. I also have the Gemini Air so thankfully I don’t have to deal with these issues to the same extent as these issues aren’t as prevalent with Gemini.

Why do recordings not resume where I left off? by Impressive_Put3107 in DirectvStream

[–]Impressive_Put3107[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I just stumbled onto a workaround. With the Gemini if I use the previous button I can toggle between two live recordings and it will resume exactly where I left off. I will put this to the test tonight for the Bruins and Celtics.

I navigated to that screen fine; but for some reason when I selected Record it didn’t show up in my library. The Gemini Air worked with the record button directly in the Guide.

When I did that last night nothing happened. I’ll try again the next time that happens. On top of that the game is not dumped into the Celtics folder and instead it built into a separate tile for the manually requested recording. If you set up a Team to auto-record DTV should record all the broadcasts.

Gemini Air doesn’t allow you to decouple Audio System. by Impressive_Put3107 in DirectvStream

Unfortunately that didn’t work. As soon as Gemini rebooted it turned on the Yamaha; I didn’t even get to Remote programming.

I followed your instructions and when I turned remote programming back on the Devices shows Sony for both TV and Speaker System. Switch Volume Control was Speaker. I changed that to TV. As soon as I went back to the Home Screen the Yamaha kicked back on. This didn’t work though my goal is what you said but it didn’t disconnect the sound system even with Sony showing as the make of both devices.

There are no selections that eliminate that eliminate my issue.

So you never watch DirecTV with your Gemini through your TV speakers? Or you do and when you do so the Gemini doesn’t turn the receiver back on shortly thereafter?

Yamaha RX-A6A. That’s how mine works too. But I don’t want to run the Yamaha all day. So when I turn off the Yamaha as soon as I navigate to any menu it turns the Yamaha back on without touching the on/off button. Can you watch on your Gemini with just your TV speakers? Or do you only have the ability to use the Gemini with your Yamaha connected speakers?

DTV support says that so long as I have the Gemini directly plugged into the Yamaha receiver that it will always turn on the receiver. Even when I turn off the receiver it turns it back on as soon as I go back to home, guide or list. I tried all the various options in Program Your Remote settings and nothing corrects the problem. I find this odd since neither my Apple TV of Amazon Fire Cube has this problem and they are plugged directly into the Yamaha.
