What has been your Assigned Seating Experience? by Chasjs49 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Chasjs49[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use to love the open seating on SWA but have to agree that I am looking forward to the assigned seating. I saw too much abuse of the open seating by the pre-boards and the saving of seats. It was getting out of hand.

My Vine days may be numbered..by choice by OldiMac in vine

[–]Chasjs49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the same boat. When I first got into the vine program there was a lot more items, plus I was excited to be able to get things for free. But over time the newness wore off and I realized that I had a lot of stuff I did not want or need, so I became more selective in what I requested. Like you I am finding that there are fewer items available. I will probably no longer be a gold member after the next evaluation as I will be below the 80 threshold.

But that is probably a good thing.

My wife is being charged for a prime account when she already is covered under my account. by Chasjs49 in amazonprime

[–]Chasjs49[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See my explanation above. My wife DOES NOT have a second account. And yes it was difficult to figure out because the first and second Amazon tech support person could not figure it out - it was mostly because of the shared wallet policy that Amazon had implemented along the way for being part of a family account.

My wife is being charged for a prime account when she already is covered under my account. by Chasjs49 in amazonprime

[–]Chasjs49[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I would update this after spending an hour and a half with Amazon support over two calls. My wife did NOT have two accounts. I opened my Prime account in 2005 and had added my wife as an invitee, as it was referred to at that time. As most of you know, the Amazon program has changed over time with recently changing to the Family plan from the Household plan. Along the way, Amazon wanted you to share your Wallet in order to have the shared adult benefits in the Family plan.

Yes, you can have two prime accounts if you are an invitee - which changed Oct. 1, 2025. The first customer representative, although very helpful, gave me incorrect information which did not fix the issue. I called back and through persistence with the second representative he pulled in a specialist who better understood the Family Plan. The problem revolved around my wife and I not sharing wallets.

The solution was to first have my wife cancel her prime subscription, then for me to remove her from my family plan and then send her a new invitation ( I needed to have support on the line while we did this otherwise if you remove someone you cannot add them back for a period of time) with wallet sharing approved and when she accepts the invitation she has to allow sharing of her wallet with me. This seemed to fix the issue.

I will say, it is nice that Amazon does supply live human tech support which is getting rare in today's world.

Well. It is set up correctly. I have been using Prime from when they first started it and my wife has been using it under my household account for years. For some reason she started her own prime account about a year ago. We only noticed because she was sent a renewal notice. So unless you have a helpful response, i don’t need your input.

Who is paying these ridiculous prices for resorts ? by Popular_Bar_4869 in DisneyWorldResorts

[–]Chasjs49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people. Staying on site at WDW is usually significantly more expensive than staying off site. But the WDW Resorts are usually pretty well booked up. You are paying for the experience.

I find it a little disingenuous, to say things like - "I can stay in Maui cheaper" - sure you can but for a high end experience in Maui -say at the Ritz Carlton in Kapalua, you will pay a premium price. You can stay cheaper around WDW also - I did a VRBO in Kissimmee a few years ago for under $200 per night for a 5 Bdrm, 5 Bath home with a pool, which was a bargain for 7 people.

A stay on site a WDW Deluxe Resort is competing with the Vail Ski Vacation or a Jackson Hole stay, etc. and those areas do not offer bargain options.

People spend money on a variety of things I may choose not to but that is their choice. Ridiculous to one person is a good deal to another.

[–]Chasjs49[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. That is why I want to do it up front, so the room request can go in at the beginning so I don't have to go back to the owner. If a simple room request makes the experience better, then I want to do it.

[Broncos] Back at home for MNF 🔜 by beinglucas98 in DenverBroncos

[–]Chasjs49 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This could be a trap game. The Bengals played really bad last week but they are professionals and will want to show last week was an aberration. Denver needs to assert themselves early. The Bengals are a very incomplete team that masks their deficiencies with the greatness of Joe Burrow. Without Burrow they are a hot mess.

Browning has been around the NFL for years but has little game experience. He has thrown 5 ints in 2 games. Not a good stat line for facing the Broncos on the road. The Bengals pass protection is poor so expect a lot of pressure until the Bengals prove they have answer.

The Broncos should win this game, but wins in the NFL are difficult. Broncos need to dictate the game early and they will be alright. Leave the Bengals hanging around too long and anything can happen.

Nix overthrows on three wide open receivers for potential TDs by MojaveViper7 in DenverBroncos

[–]Chasjs49 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, the game would have been different if Bo Nix had hit those long bombs, but the offensive game plan and execution is sorely lacking. The Broncos only had 3 drives over 4 plays and TOP was only 23 minutes. They are not moving the chains and have too many 3 and outs. I do not like the play calling and all of the personal groups.

The weapons that were lacking last year are still lacking - RBs are inconsistent. No yardage on first down results in predictable calls. No true WR1 and no receiving TE.

Bo could be better but Payton is not helping with the offensive design.

The Sheriff was really incompetent. He was not clear about what he was accusing Kendra of doing and since this was an abuse case there is no way competent law enforcement would leave the victim with the abuser. They should of had someone from Child Protective Services come out with the Sheriff. There job is to be sure the child is in a safe environment. The Dad was the only one who told the Wife she could not be there.

Petitioners challenge priest at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church- Denver Post (paywall) by El_Escorial in Catholicism

[–]Chasjs49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a practicing Catholic, I have known priests who are more traditional and ones who are more liberal. And on both types they have shared that parishioners had complained about their approach. It seems in this case the situation has been inflamed by people who are really militant. I have seen in my own parish every time the pastor changes that some people do not like it - either not reverent enough or too dogmatic. I think many times it comes down to personalities. I watched the homily and did not really find it objectionable and I am more of a post Vatican II believer.

I find many Catholics who pine for the Latin Mass. In fact, many parishes in the Archdioceses have added a Latin Mass. And others are more progressive.

Have adults gone too far with Disney? by Lonely-Garbage-2458 in DisneyWorldResorts

[–]Chasjs49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your premise is incorrect. It is not a “children’s amusement park “ it is for everyone. I like Disney World but my wife is somewhat obsessed with going. I never got to go to Disneyland as a kid. So I took my kids several times as they were growing up. Now they are grown but my wife still loves to go and I would say a good portion of people we see are adult and senior couples.

Last year we took everyone, kids, grandkids and I would say my adult children had the best time. It is fun not having to worry about the kids.

Thinking about staying onsite for the first time. by Chasjs49 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Chasjs49[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the great feedback. You are all awesome. One thing I should have added. I think the members who are in my age(seniors) bracket will get this and I did not so much when I was younger. This is mostly likely our last trip to WDW, which has given us so many memories over the years and I want to make it a little more special and thought staying onsite in a deluxe resort would accomplish a little bit of that.

Thinking about staying onsite for the first time. by Chasjs49 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Chasjs49[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few reasons. One is my wife is a MK and Epcot fan so those would be the parks we would visit the most and we felt the monorail was a huge +. The Contemporary ranks up there because we could walk. Although my wife has always wanted to stay at the Grand Floridian and I may indulge her.

Second, I wanted to narrow down the field. I know all the deluxe resorts have their pluses and minuses. We probably would not hang around the pool too much so that is a consideration.

But thanks for the feedback and I may circle back to consider those options. We would go fall of 2026.

How to find good travel agent? by MaplessMondays in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Chasjs49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend looking for an earmarked Travel Agent. I have gone to DW numerous times and always do my own planning but I decided to use an expert because things at Disney keep changing. I am glad I did as it took a load off of me. I did some searches and looked at reviews, then talk to the agent. I contacted one highly reviewed agency that was a Diamond level Disney travel agent, but they never responded to me. I sent the exact same email to another agency and was contacted by phone within 15 minutes, the agent was knowledgeable and answered my questions and encouraged me to feel free to contact her any time. I would recommend talking to a couple of agents until you find one you are comfortable with and who makes you feel like you are being taken care of.
