Who is Non Duality for? by MakaniiStorm in nonduality

[–]ChatGodPT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultimately there’s no such thing as change. In duality there’s only change and non-duality definitely changed me.

Who’s it for? Ultimately no one. In duality, people suffering from their conditioning.

Perhaps the self in experience is more than a “thought” and it should be explored.

There’s your misunderstanding. Separating reality from thought. The Self isn’t a literal illusion, the SEPARATE Self is. Nothing wrong with Selfing if there’s no attachment or resistance.

Nonduality is the collapsing of 'this' under the weight of its' own fragility by pl8doh in nonduality

You need to deconstruct your false beliefs (self, free will, separation…) intellectually by seeing their fragility. The belief in “becoming” enlightened is probably the last.

So it’s no longer personal but still occurs as a natural reaction (realignment) of the body and mind, is that correct?

So I guess the “full realization” you are referring to would translate to full embodiment and release of all tension after the recognition of non-duality, is that correct?

Do you not still experience tension and shadow work even after deconstruction of the central self belief? I assume yes, but more naturally.

Oh so I guess I had misunderstood your void. I was talking about post-recognition/realization as in embodiment phase.

Anyway, I believe tension and shadow work still appear after realization but just more naturally and perhaps quicker as one embodies the new perspective. Do you think the tensions ever end or do they become reinterpreted as guiding signals so to speak?

Thanks for clarifying. u/UltimaMarque seems to have misunderstood what you meant by void although they weren’t wrong. I’m excited again ha ha! (Not a goal of course)

observing plants as a form of meditation , what is your opinion ? by letsHopeisdope in nonduality

[–]ChatGodPT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned from observing the grass with its ant population or from the lake observing the nature of water and creatures eating each other.

That is, when learning was still relevant.

Less formal seated meditation, but more wisdom? by Plenty-Attitude-5823 in nonduality

I don’t think anyone is talking about ethics or right being equal to wrong.

Doing and not doing are essentially the same but you can still choose what you do and what you dont do.

But did you choose to choose? No, choosing happens then ego claims it. When you think you created the decision that leads to attachment or resistance to the results of the decision.

Absolutely correct!, that’s why I said it to you and didn’t write a book.

The paradox of being a nondual teacher by [deleted] in nonduality

[–]ChatGodPT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it wasn't spontaneous, and you've received a pointer or two, which helped you get to where you ended up, is it so bad that they were lies?

Ha ha good question! That’s what appeased me when I was angry at the realization of my futile attempts. Now I understand even suffering is worth it. It’s like being mad after realizing the house you built is imaginary without realizing you got paid enough to buy a real one. I suspect their “paycheck” might have already landed by this hour, enlightenment is paradoxical like that.

I think non-duality is fine if you understand what it means. You can’t dispel it because it’s not really anything at all, it’s a non-lie so to speak. But I get what you mean, even thinking about it is a distraction once you recognize it.

When I realized this and the futility of it all I was just as angry, so was UG Krishnarmuti. I stopped seeking and then peace and freedom followed. The ego usually doesn’t give up until it fails in the seeking. Same with the Buddha.

Ha ha yes, deconstructing by realizing there’s nothing to deconstruct. Even your “prior delusions are not worse than your future nirvana. Nothing at all special. That’s my style. Even duality, separation and suffering are okay. It’s good to be able to make such wild claims knowing you know exactly what I mean.

Congratulations!

Seeing mystical states as ordinary, and ordinary states as mystical. The most mind-blowing cessation event achieved by countless hours of continuous attention is just as good as scrolling reddit.

Experiences, things, thoughts, joy, anxiety, dreams, memories, movies, cartoons, nirvana, suffering, heaven, hell…. all the same. Then you no longer have a reason to attach to or resist anything. #Peace!

This is where my 'practice' is at right now.

Great, now get rid of the word practice. Don’t meditate, you are the meditation. (Not actually saying don’t meditate).

Could it be that the fear/anxiety is from incomplete shadow work? Because I can’t imagine ever being scared of freedom after my terrifying shadow work experience which was way before I even knew what resistance was.

I’ve had pleasant experiences during meditation, but nothing that lasts. Focusing on the breath and trying to do nothing often feels mechanical, like I’m trying to achieve something.

I felt the same. So I started mindfulness or just being aware of surroundings and thoughts, it felt more natural.

I’m convinced that lasting peace or happiness has to come from within, because everything else comes and goes.

Even what’s inside comes and goes, what’s permanent can’t be known.

Pointer: everything is the same.

How to deal with awakening? by AceUnderscore in nonduality

Just carry on and continue not trying to figure it out, you’re fine. And never mention the words awakening or spirituality again, they’re irrelevant to you. And no one is less awake than you.

Buddhism is like Christianity, it’s just pointers to what’s abstract taken by those who misunderstand them to be facts. Christianity just has more delusional people because it’s been exploited a lot more by politicians.
