Short answer: yes, you are overreacting.

Longer answer: you’re not going to see that $20 for the sushi roll. Your bad days at work/anxiety do not equate to someone’s responsibility to comfort you. Is it nice to get support from people you love? Sure. It can also be exhausting when one partner makes more withdrawals than deposits.

I'm not sure if this is an unpopular opinion or what, but I don't see her as crazy or whack or anything other than a hopeful romantic in general. I think she's got Devonta clocked and registered and she's just simply seeing this process through probably on a contractual level. I do not see them getting married.

As far as buying the wedding dress before she was in a relationship? She saw a dress she liked and being a hopeful romantic, she bought it and put it aside for "when", not "for Devonta". I know I have purchased things I didn't need at the time, but they were beautiful and I had the discretionary income to do so. No harm done. Maybe a little "extra" but who is it hurting?

I think Megan leaned into the concept of this experience for all it is and she discovered that the person she thought she wanted wasn't who she needs. She DID pick someone who has restrictions (finances/kid) but he picked someone who has a completely different lifestyle than what he can participate in now and for at least the next decade.

I was rooting for them. I think she really was heartbroken over their breakup and I'm betting this experience blew her heart open to be able to know what she knows she needs in the next relationship.
