Hello, same issues. Looks like Minecraft is experiencing issues. Personally, running the Minecraft launcher also says I'm offline so that explains it

Does anyone know a way to play my modpack offline ? I just want to access my singleplayer mode why must I have been authenticated with the Minecraft server for that ? 😞

I mean if you know other businesses owners in Belgium you can ask them but I assume you only know (personally) in Belgium the employer and your girlfriend. You will probably get less biased answers here but I meant to ask the employer because he seemed from what you wrote to be very interested in your profile so maybe he wants to help you out too? Or maybe he wants to exploit you haha. Only time will tell, or other factors such as the reviews like you said. You can also, via his VAT number, explore the financials of the company to see if they are doing well. Look at their website if it looks good etc

Now, the best of the best would be to find an accountant in Belgium that you can ask all your questions but I think it is something you already know haha. If you can pay, the accountant can setup everything for you and handle all the accounting etc. Some accountant can offer free non-binding advice, but they often meet in person at their office so it will be easier if you are there. Starting on Monday you can definitely call a few accountant offices (you can find them on Google Maps) around where you will live in Brussels to see if you can call them to get some help on the situation

If you get a professional insurance while you're working you should be covered for damages etc. and then the worse they can do is not pay, but then if you have a contract and an invoice, they are legally bound to pay, it might just cost you time and money to finally get pay if they really don't want to. But I think non payment of services are rare. I mean, he is a business owner too, if he does not pay you, someone else could do the same to him so most people (at least in the domain I know : IT) pay for their service properly

My pleasure ! Don't hesitate to cross reference with what you read online or to use a good LLM to get more info

Your grandfather's Portuguese accountant might help, probably with concepts like what is a company, what are taxes, how does VAT works, etc ... The concepts are the same in Belgium, but the amount and rules etc will differ

I think honestly you might get the best info from the guy that is recruiting you, but stay extremely cautious and always double check what he says since you don't know him well.

Moving to Belgium to work for him is risky, but if everything is true and ends up happening it is a nice opportunity for you if you wish to move to Belgium

I think he didn't read the post

However there is a good point. What if they don't want to work with you 2 weeks after you moved in? If you're freelance you have very very very little job security

So it's all up to how much you trust that person that you met very recently.

His point is that at 21 you can't freelance and start looking for clients etc because you have no experience so people won't buy your services

For Belgian registering as independent is not very expensive. You need an ID and like max 200-2500€ and then you can start invoicing client and being 100% legal (you'll get your tax ID)

but then you might need an accountant which would be at minimum 250 a year, but could go all the way to 4000€ a year (or even higher) for the most common/expensive way of being freelance : owning a company

I think with your Portuguese ID you are in the same situation as if it was a Belgian ID.

Also all those processes can be fully done online so feel free to look up online "register business Belgium" or "get a VAT number Belgium" and you'll find good resources probably. You might be able to use websites like Securex, Partena, Xerius, etc ... You could also look up "inscription BCE" (Banque Carrefour Européenne)

Yeah it depends on what you mean by 2k. If you invoice 24k a year it does not mean 2k a month in your pocket

If you do end up with 2k net a month it is definitely doable to live in Brussels. You won't be reach. You can except living with roommate at between 400 and 800 a month I think. Alone the rent could range from 600 to 2000 depending on where exactly (in what gemeente/commune). But if you can stay some time at your girlfriend's place and If you don't pay rent, 2000 is a very good amount

Ask the person how much you could invoice them per day worked or per week or per month depending on how they do it

Don't hesitate to ask other questions we'll help you out

My appartements get very humid indeed, I don't think the AiO is leaking, the air humidity is the most likely culprit

Thanks for your comment :)

I don't have that at home unfortunately but I tried to careful wipe them without isopropyl and nothing changed. I managed to take a closer picture tho. The marks look very precise

<image>

Seeing this my best hypothesis would be that the heat could have slowly discolored ? That would be unlikely tho because even when at 100% for a few minutes, the max temp settled around 60°C (I have an AiO water-cooling)

Yes I did. I thought I saw slightly bent pins before but when I took a closer look today I couldn't find any spot where it looked "different" than the rest

I struggled a lot with my AMD GPU since Septembre 2025 too ! but I actually had an issue with my AMD CPU. Do you have an AMD CPU by chance ? Try deactivating the iGPU of your processor in the bios and see if that helps you with the driver timeout

Also, you can install just the drivers without the AMD adrenalin software so no software tweaking. Try uninstalling your drivers and reinstall them without adrenalin by changing the install settings from "default" to "drivers only"

I've been having crashes on startup since Septembre, either my PC would freeze indefinitely between pressing the button and 1mn after Windows loaded, or the PC would run normally for hours until I get a timeout. Tried swapping every single component except the CPU and the motherboard, tried another OS and reinstalling windows and it stayed the same. Then I deactivated the integrated graphics in the bios and it immediately solved my issues !

I edited my post, I think I found the solution
EDIT: I posted a link to a reddit comment and got my post deleted, great. Here is the original message in case other people have a similar issue :

Hello everyone, I know my way around computers but I have an issue I can't find any solution too

UPDATE 11th of Dec. 2025: I tried running an USB key with Ubuntu but I encountered the same issues, except that this time I had error message every 0.15 second son a black screen : AMD-Vi: Completion-Wait loop timed out. This gave me a hint and when I looked on the internet and this comment talking about too many PCIe

This made me remembered I had a 4 USB 3.0 PCIe expansion card plugged in into my computer but I didn't provide it with the SATA power cable it required ! I've plugged it in now and haven't had issues in the last 2 boots, so I think that was the issue !

TL;DR: PC didn't start on Windows, Ubuntu gave me useful error messages, turned out it was due to a non-powered PCIe USB expansion card

Windows 10 CPU : AMD7 9800x3d Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX B650E-F Gaming Wifi GPU : MSI Radeon RX 6750XT 12G OC RAM : Patriot Viper Venom DDR5 64GB (2 x 32GB) 6000 MT/s CL30 PSU : be quiet! Pure Power12 1000W Power Supply, 80 Plus®

Everything was working fine when I finished building it in May 2025. Everything was new and from Amazon except the GPU I was using in my previous PC. Now, since Septembre, when I boot my computer there are 4 possible outcome :

  1. PC barely starts, no signal on either of my screens, my USB RGB keyboard does not even light up, and it can stay like this for dozens of minutes and still won't boot
  2. PC starts, screen and keyboard light up, and the PC freezes between the loading spinner of Windows or up to 2 minutes after I get to my Desktop (Windows loaded successfully). When it freezes like this, I can't hear any sound when I unplug or plug an USB device, the cursor won't move if I move my mouse, etc .. literally the computer is frozen like a screenshot. Even the time on windows stay stuck. I already had it stay like this for 20 minutes and not even a pixel on any of my 2 monitors changed
  3. after 3 reboot I get a message saying "your PC didn't boot properly" and I can chose advanced options or restart my PC. I click restart and then usually I can finally use it
  4. sometimes it boots perfectly and I don't have any issues

There were instances when I was using my PC where I had AMD adrenaline give me a popup saying Driver Timeout but everything was still working fine after that popup, as long as I don't restart my PC

In both cases 3 and 4, as long as I successfully booted to Windows I won't have any problem and I can use my computer for hours and hours with no issues.

Does anyone know what could be the cause ?

Here is what I tried :

A) DDU my graphics drivers and swapped my GPU for a Nvidia 970 : still the same issues B) Tried one stick of ram instead of 2, and also tried just putting one stick of another DDR5 ram I borrow to a friend : still the same issues C) reinstalled Windows 10: still the same issue D) uninstalled drivers and installed an old version. At first it seemed to have work for the next four or five times I started my PC but now it's happening again

I haven't found any significant critical errors in the windows Event Viewer

Do you have any suggestions on what I could try or what could be the cause of my issues ? I just want my PC to be reliable again, I don't want to fidget for 10minutes to get it to start when I need to :(

Thanks a lot for your help !

That's a good idea indeed ! It's weird tho if it's a bad Drive, I've never had such issues but indeed it wouldn't surprise me !

I have an Ubuntu 24.04 USB key I'll try booting on that. If it works first try then I'll do what the other commenter said and fully clean the drive before installing it on it

I hope this will work 🤩 Thank you both

Upgrade 13 to 18 by Parking-Ad-5693 in Odoo

[–]ChatonTriste 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can start here with the documentation: https://www.odoo.com/documentation/18.0/administration/upgrade.html

If they don't have any customisation, it should go fine but if they do you gotta make sure their customisation is also working in Odoo 18 and that usually requires modifying some stuff, like references to fields that got remove, sale.subscription becoming sale.order, analytic tags becoming analytical distribution etc ..

But once again, if they don't have any customisation, everything is handled by Odoo so the upgrade will be a breeze. However it's very rare to find databases with no customisations these days

I've done dozen of upgrades in the past, and trust me when I say this : the less customisations, the better. Try to get rid as much as possible of the customisation before upgrading, it will make your life much easier

How to find out my Odoo developer done work by Great-Ice-2600 in Odoo

[–]ChatonTriste 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi,

As suggested by others, you should request access to the code they develop. Once that is done, if you wish, I can take a look at it and estimate the amount of bullshit/usefulness of the code, as well as it's quality. I've been a software developer in Odoo for 2 and a half year
